Recently photographed two of the dragonet species we have in the UK these are both females which are tricky to tell apart without counting dorsal rays and feeling the gills for spines but the males of these fish are very distinct and have amazing breeding colours.

Slightly surreal to see my film Britains Hidden Fishes in the same billing as Jurassic World! Tickets tonight pretty much sold out at Marlborough

A few years ago if I wanted to see ring necked parakeets it was a train down to London while now I can see them in a few local parks to me in Nottingham they do seem to be spreading.

Can't wait to be back in Dorset filming some lovely spots to see marine life including plenty of wrasse!

Theirs been a distinct lack of reptiles and amphibians in my life this year and something I want ro remedy next year with some workshops planned with Celtic Rewilding and visit some sites to see wild herps like these baby smooth snakes (photographed under license)
