Proof of concept: SatDump running on an Xbox Series S - Native DirectX 11 rendering - Game controller support - Optimized volk kernels/AVX2 (no OpenCL yet) - Most default plugins build - Possibility of USB SDR support TBD - Completely practical, I assure you
Well everyone, here it is: the final expected APT and HRPT transmissions of NOAA 18 over the United States. HIRS and AVHRR IR Channels were off, but channel 3a was turned on, which is not typical for NOAA POES sats. So long, and farewell!

Hey @NOAASatellites and @NASA, I hope you now realize that the current plan of cloud-based distribution for GeoXO data is completely untenable if contracts can be cancelled on a whim. Your only real solution is a next-gen HRIT on next-gen GEOs. npr.org/2025/04/09/nx-…
For testing purposes, the GOES-19 HRIT/EMWIN broadcast will be turned on Thursday, 13 March 2025, 14:00 -- 20:00 UTC. The data content will be the full GOES-East HRIT/EMWIN broadcast, with GOES-19 Cloud Moisture Imagery and L2+ products.
For the time being, most of my new posts will be over on BlueSky - bsky.app/profile/jvital…. I'm not sold on moving over there completely yet - after all, there's good people on both sides, amirite?
To keep things moving along, and to fix bugs and add features for many people, we've just pushed SatDump 1.2.2! Read about it here: github.com/SatDump/SatDum…

2024-11-28 0202 UTC - Metop-C. AVHRR 543b composite and SSEC 89 GHz MHS composite. Decoded with #SatDump, as always

The latest #SatDump nightlies can now accurately extract the timestamp from METEOR HRPT data, via BIS-M data. No more need to set the start timestamp! This also fixes projecting METEOR HRPT passes that roll over Moscow midnight, like this one by @CO2ESP_Raydel

We shall name him Larry 🐌
Does anyone else see a snail when looking at this satellite image?
I'm happy to show off a new feature available in the #SatDump nightlies: GOES-R HRIT DCS decoding! When "Parse DCS" is enabled , you can now see DCS messages as they are relayed over HRIT in real time. JSON files are also saved for further processing.

Thanks to DSheirer for making an official version of sdrtrunk for Windows on ARM64! After some initial issues, it is now running well in the latest nightly. It's listed on armsdr.com, and downloads are available from GitHub 🥳

I am happy to report that @sp5ews has added HIRS calibration (finally!) and it works rather well! It will then be possible to obtain calibrated, high quality water vapor maps for use in weather forecasting from the DSB 137MHz broadcast on NOAA-15, -18 and -19, and of course HRPT!
And our site is again fixed! satdump.org/posts/1.2.1-re…
🤯🆕We are very happy to announce the release of #SatDump 1.2.1: we have added plenty of new features, fixed bugs and much more! 🎉 📖Read the changelog here! github.com/SatDump/SatDum… ⚠️ Our website is not updating at the moment. Please download from here: github.com/SatDump/SatDum…
⚠️🎉 Dear #SatDump users! Thanks to @JVital2013 it is now possible to have calibrated MSU-MR data even on LRPT in the nightly! However: - Meteor-M N°2-4 is not done with flight testing therefore it cannot be calibrated on LRPT - The process is still experimental & can have bugs!
2024-10-18 1939 UTC - METEOR M2-4 LRPT. Looks like the satellite is now transmitting its ID again as normal - no override needed!

For over a week now, METEOR M2-4 has not been properly identifying itself on LRPT - resulting in #SatDump misidentifying the sat as the defunct M2. To combat this, the latest SatDump nightly now has an override to let you manually specify the LRPT sat you're receiving!
