💡 We need to lower energy bills in order to raise living standards 📉 This week I signed a letter with 100+ Labour MPs from the Living Standards Coalition to ask @Ed_Miliband to back a progressive energy pricing system, bringing it down for those who need it most #Broxtowe

Our pledge to clean up our waterways ⬇️ 💧New powerful regulator 💧£104bn to upgrade crumbling pipes & build new sewage works 💧Reinvest company fines into local projects 💧Polluting companies to cover prosecution costs & unfair bonuses for polluting water bosses banned

☕ I really enjoyed hosting my community drop-in for #Bramcote #Broxtowe residents. A great opportunity to get to know residents, hear about any concerns & get feedback on government policy. Great discussions on ASB, health, Transport, SEND & more. Thank you to all who came!

☕ At the weekend I dropped into St Luke's Church in #Stapleford #Broxtowe for their coffee morning fundraiser for @MyelomaUK Blood cancer is the 3rd biggest cancer killer in the UK, with Myeloma one of the most common forms. Thank you to the group for raising awareness.

This is the biggest overhaul of the water sector in a generation. My government will abolish Ofwat and establish a single powerful regulator to prevent water pollution and protect families from bill hikes. Ending the chaos of the past. Delivering for working people.
⬇️ Watch below ⬇️ Today I asked the Secretary of State for Education, @bphillipsonMP how she will ensure that new teacher recruitment will bring in those who can meet the education needs of dyslexic and neurodiverse children. #SEND #Dyslexia #Broxtowe
The stigma of a HIV diagnosis continues to be a threat to the health and mental wellbeing of people with a positive HIV status. Today on #ZeroHIVStigmaDay I'm proud to support the campaign to end HIV stigma and create a more accepting and supportive world.

Meadows are critical to our environment and have been part of our natural heritage for centuries. I asked the Minister to protect them 🎥 ⬇️
Many constituents who have been affected by changes to the Boots Pension Scheme have reached out to me. I am having active discussions with the Pensions Minister and I am closely monitoring this case. I'll continue to keep you updated on developments with this case.

Labour is investing £500 million into rolling out over 1000 Best Start Family Hubs to provide wide-ranging help for families, such as parenting and early development. Children growing up in Broxtowe deserve the best possible start in life. That is what Labour are delivering.

We are long overdue reform of our SEND system. This week, I was glad to attend a roundtable with Outcomes First Group to discuss how we can make SEND provision is more inclusive, effective, and sustainable for the local authorities.

I'd like to extend a huge thank you to the Broxtowe constituents who came to speak to me in Parliament today about the impact climate change is having on our area and the actions we need to take to protect our environment.

I’m really pleased to see the Government is taking early years seriously, announcing a new Best Start Family Service this week. In order to break down barriers to opportunity, we must see dedicated outreach to more deprived areas so the support reaches those who need it most.
I was pleased to chair a productive meeting of the APPG for the Caribbean. Conversations included trade and economic relations between the UK and English speaking Caribbean.

30% of people in UK prisons are diagnosed with dyslexia, and likely many more who are undiagnosed. Today I raised this with the Justice Minister and asked how the Government supports dyslexic people in prison and after release to prevent reoffending.
No-one going through the heartbreak of pregnancy loss should have to go back to work before they’re ready. I’m proud this Labour government is introducing a day-one right to protected time off work, with time away from work to grieve. bbc.com/news/articles/…
I really appreciated the opportunity to meet with Kevin Larkin from @CoalfieldsRegen to discuss the social and economic challenges which affect coalfield communities like Eastwood.
