Re: the dignity of the baptismal priesthood during liturgy, this lived sense of "participating" in the Mass is one aspect. The other is dignity! It seems some instantiations of the NO convey participation, but not in anything particularly dignified. This, it seems, is a failure.

Reading an essay by Card. Marc Ouellet in a new @IgnatiusPress collection of his views on synodality. It's fairly anodyne, which really makes his intervention below on the primacy of the universal Church v the local Churches really stick out. Seems he thinks this is the crux.


Striking that so many saints are saints because of their love for the poor. We (myself included) often want to sort of imitate their sainthood via deep prayer and outstanding moral rectitude, but skip over this whole "love and devote yourself to the poor" thing.
This was basically my wedding reception. The DJ was addicted to EDM and could not stop playing *absurd* remixes of the songs we had requested, even after we begged him not to. A spotify playlist and speaker honestly would've been better.
