NEW: There was a report today that UK men's basketball had received 45% of the revenue sharing split this year, but multiple sources have told me that number is not accurate. More about we know about UK's revenue sharing plan here. kentucky.com/sports/college…

According to sources within the program, Kentucky is set to re-sign with Nike on a long-term shoe/apparrel deal. The previous deal (signed in 2013 at $47M) ran thru end of 2024-25 season. Cats have been with Nike since 1997. This deal would likely dwarf the previous one.

St. Bonaventure outfielder Jayce Tharnish has announced his commitment to Kentucky. A big late add for the Wildcats as Tharnish slashed .403/.461/.597 with 11 doubles, two triples and seven homers, along with 32 stolen bases in 2025. Second team A-10 selection.

Pope on what he’s seen from Hawthorne… He has a really unique skill set. Spent some time with Tayshaun Prince recently, and there’s so much there that reminds you of him. Moves like him. All arms and legs, can change direction and get downhill. Impressive length.

Asked about Jelavic’s status, Pope says he just finished classes overseas. He’s optimistic that he’ll be here soon. He can’t work out with the team yet, even if he was here. Would need to be in summer classes at UK. But he expects him to be here and have a big impact.

After spending a little time with the team in summer workouts and a scrimmage against the TBT squad, Mark Pope says he sees this new team as having a chance to be a great “pace” team. Guys who can really push it. Backcourt could be dynamic.
