AWFUL scenario. Border Patrol agents raided a car wash and arrested a DACA recipient working there. He has a REAL ID, but they didn't even let him show his ID, they just grabbed him and threw him in a van. He was then detained for a MONTH before getting bond.
This is a terrifying case. DHS did not recognize DACA as a protective status, & proceeded to arrest & detain Diaz. With the massive increase in enforcement that is about to start, are DACA recipients also enforcement targets? latimes.com/california/sto…

NEW: Sec. Hegseth sent a letter to Congress on Tuesday announcing that the Department of Defense will allow DHS to detain immigrants on two military bases: Fort Atterbury in Indiana and Fort Dix in New Jersey. There is no detail at this time as to when or how this will be done.
Both of these military bases were used to house Afghan evacuees after the Fall of Kabul. With ~12,000 Afghans slated to be stripped of legal status on Tuesday, the facilities could now be used to detain these same allies before they’re deported back to the Taliban regime.
