Few know that many of the victims of violence in Sweida are innocent families from eastern Syria who work in agriculture in Sweida. 47 from the Bukair tribe, mostly women & children, were executed in cold blood by the Hijri militia. Their bodies arrived at hospitals in Damascus.
I welcome the statement today by the National Committee into the coastal violence in Syria. Its report and recommendations are an essential and timely committment to the pursuit of truth, justice & accountability for all Syrians.

What I take from this is a clear message that there will be accountability for all crimes, including those currently being perpetrated in the south. All Syrians must be protected and all Syrians must be held accountable for their actions.
