For the third tip, listen to music without lyrics. Whilst it's very cathartic to sing your heart out to "Femininomenon" by Chappell Roan on a Tuesday evening sometimes you gotta knuckle down and get it done. What's your lyricless recommendation? Share yours 🎤🎶

For the second tip, set realistic targets. Some people write little by little (like me) and others write full drafts and continually redraft. Do what works for you, and set targets that work with your style. I like to set a target I can maintain of 300 words a day 🗒️🎉

The first tip is something that seems so very easy now, but when you're in the moment it's sometimes difficult to accept: take a moment away! Talk to your peers, go to a cafe and get that chai and chat about your essays, workshop ideas. Talk it out! Come back with fresh eyes 🥬👀

With dissertation season upon us, it is logical to consider the various ways in which people seek to improve their writing and look after their sanity during these times. This post marks the beginning of a new series on this issue, if you'd like to get add your thoughts email us!
