I am still hoping this can go viral. @caulfield is a non-scientist who acts as arbiter for what constitutes scientific misinformation. When he was caught posting misinformation, he immediately blocked the expert who corrected him. Delicious example of the anti-science wave.
Wow. Just got blocked by @CaulfieldTim for correcting misinformation. Most people would think it cool that a doctor comments on their post about medicine. But not in North America, where even science is a political game. When will this anti-science crusade stop?

Anti-science influencer @19joho justifies his behavior by saying "the other side is worse"...🤣 I agree that the USA anti-science Right is worse than the anti-science Left. But both sides are terrible. Politics should have no place in science.
Very broad generalization: Americans follow people on social media who think like they do. Suspicious of "bad people" from the other party. Europeans follow people they disagree with. Debate and disagreement is not a taboo. I blame USA 2-party (un)democracy.
Actually infections during the Tour de France are very common. The pandemic did not change the laws of medicine, whether fake doctors like @drseanmullen say so or not.
Does this USA senator believe that boosting healthy young people will decrease #longcovid? He may be right but we don't have evidence of this. Also, no country (including his own) on Earth recommends this any longer. USA needs to get politics out of medicine/science.

Gorski and Howard have been trolling scientists on years on social media to get a reaction. They are incredibly proud when someone bites. I wish these influencers would stay out of science. The best thing is just to ignore them (yes, I see the irony. I can't help myself).

Talk do an Infectious Diseases specialist doctor about Lyme disease - a bacterial infection transmitted by ticks. Be very wary of the numerous quacks out there who will say you have Lyme when you don't and offer all kinds of absurd treatments
Another post about scientists being bullied on USA Twitter... Why do Americans accept this behavior? This increasingly looks like an outlet for middle-aged white males like @gorskon to attack women. When will these angry bullies disappear? Maybe never, unless more speak up.
This is a terrible story. I wonder what kind of staff they employ in a rundown clinic that offers nutrition, acupuncture and chiropractic services - and also MRI scans. I don't know the details but it looks like a very shady business.

It's the "government"... "They" are lying to us... I frequently see this conspiracy theory on American social media. How exactly did governments and scientists all over the world do this? Really impressive. At least fake doctors on Twitter are there to show us the truth!🤣
Scanning for misinformation, I found this. 100% fake news. The study simply looked at kids with a peripheral neuropathy after vaccination (known as a rare side effects of many vaccines). How many cases after years of very high vaccine uptake in Denmark: 16. #misinformation

The worst thing about the American anti-science wave is how masking became a signal for being left wing. Masks were a small part of our pandemic response in socialist Scandinavia. Masks are a smoke screen. Opium for the people. Focus on stuff that matters, USA!

I think we have found a couple of vaccine influencers! Let's run some tests: American: ✅ White: ✅ Male: ✅ Middle aged: ✅ Academic in unrelated fields: ✅ How much vaccine hesitancy do such smug influencers cause? Do they really not see that they are part of the problem?
Let's look at actual data instead of anecdotes from social media influencers like @19joho. The Covids vaccines are very safe for kids and adults. Boosting healthy kids/youth is not supported by evidence and is not done anywhere in the world.
USA, don't normalize these attack on scientists. For those who don't know them, Dr. Gandhi is a respected professor of infectious diseases at UCSF. Dr. Howard is a social media influencer who is wants attention. I wish more would speak up against this behavior.
