The first journals have arrived. How I Feel With Crohn’s/Ulcerative Colitis will be available next week as a free download. This comprehensive & compassionate resource is designed to inspire, comfort, and empower children living with #IBD.

Absolutely agree. Thank you for pointing this out. I was waiting for the #bileacids comments in this thread. Would include dietary interventions as well. While current bile acid binders may not work sufficiently for all patients, the combination of ileal disease and the role of…
Suggests that a trial of bile acid binders should be part of the run-in to clinical trials in CD (ileal disease or prior resection). This is part of what makes CD so noisy (along with fibrosis, obstruction, penetrating disease, etc)
To all #bileacids enthusiasts: this is an interesting post/newsletter!
1/2 There is a drug called ursodeoxycholic acid that dissolves gallstones. Urso means “bear” in Latin. Why is it called that? Why does our OSOPOLAR (POLAR BEAR) clinical trial have that name?
Happy to share our study on #EEN in #CrohnsDisease: ✅Early assessment by week 3 predicts remission at end of therapy ✅Adherence = better outcomes ✅Frequent dietitian review boosts completion rates 💡 Dietetic support is crucial to successful EEN therapy onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/jg…
Another great read on #bileacids metabolism. “T6SS-mediated antagonism regulates the structure and composition of gut microbiota, affecting the entire gut metabolome, particularly the bile acids metabolism, subsequently reducing inflammation response in the intestine and…

🌎 Today, on World IBD Day, I am raising awareness for an often overlooked and underrecognized condition in IBD: bile acid malabsorption (BAM). Timely diagnosis and the use of current treatments, such as dietary interventions and medications, are crucial in improving quality of…
The first time I learned about the potential role of bile acids in IBD was through Propel a Cure's @propelacure excellent video research library ➡️ propelacure.org/videos Focusing on bile acid malabsorption (BAM) appeared to be one of the key components that helped me achieve…

Thank you for this study and for shedding more light on the impact of setons on outcomes in perianal fistulas. It’s interesting how some long-standing practices may not always yield the expected results. I hope we see more research that brings relief and leads to better…
The impact of setons on perianal fistula outcomes is unclear. After controlling for confounding, setons were not associated with improved fistula outcomes in patients treated with anti-TNF therapy. Read the full paper via bit.ly/4iCZzHW #GItwitter #IBD #fistula
