Very shocking images from #Gaza of starving children. UN reports 1 in 5 children is malnourished; a number have already died & more will unless occupiers allow full flow of humanitarian relief across border. Starvation of civilian population is a #warcrime bbc.com/news/articles/…
Pleased read @HelenClarkNZ and my piece @TheLancet spotlighting new @PMNCH Strategy. “Building partnerships and coalitions is the most promising way to challenge the forces that seek to dismantle the institutions and values of collective action” Full txt thelancet.com/journals/lance…
#France 🇫🇷 has made a very important decision to recognise #Palestine as a state. At @TheElders, we have advocated for recognition as a transformational step in encouraging a peace process. The onus is now on other holdouts like #NZ to move on this bbc.com/news/articles/…
NEW from me: Winston Peters directly intervened to stop MFAT accounts posting about Pride Month earlier this year.
The Integrity Institute wants to foster more media scrutiny of vested interests and integrity issues in NZ. One of our first steps is to make grants to media outlets to pay for journalists to be able to carry out in-depth investigations. Newsroom is our first partner for this.…
“Children in the Gaza Strip are starving to death," reports @unicef. And the U.S. is complicit. We can debate the terminology to apply, but it is unconscionable that in 2025 the United States and most of the international community are averting their eyes from this.
France is joining Ireland, Norway and Spain and many other UN members in recognising the State of Palestine. NZ should follow without delay. Recognition is an essential foundation for a two-state solution and a lasting peace. Where is our voice NZ?
“What’s outrageous is in this day and age that the Government can’t manage to resource, run or administer a system where same day enrolment and voting is possible.” thepost.co.nz/politics/36076…
Inflationary pressure. Parp! My #cartoon today #NZpol #CostOfLiving #Inflation
The UK must immediately recognise Palestinian statehood. There can be no two state solution if there is no viable state left to call Palestine.

A CALL TO CONSCIENCE: AN APPEAL TO THE LEADERS OF THE WORLD The tragedy unfolding in Gaza is a test of our shared humanity. Entire families are being murdered. Children — even babies — have been killed. Others are wasting away from hunger. This appalling disregard for human life…

Of course banks should factor climate risk into their lending: they know it's real. But Groundswell, Fed Farmers, Act and NZF have their fingers stuck in their ears. Column today @nzherald premium and paper. Comes with PSA for anyone inclined to apoplexy nzherald.co.nz/nz/groundswell…
The deliberate medieval starvation of the whole population is the other overwhelmingly urgent threat which must be addressed somehow. The silence and complicity is simply shocking given the fact that no one can deny they are not fully aware of what is being perpetrated.
“Israeli forces kill 67 Palestinians seeking aid in northern Gaza” Every day gets worse. History books will tell about the silence and complicity of (most) western leaders. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
