HBF urges racing lovers to write to their MP to express their deep concern around the measure proposed by the Treasury that risks irreparably damaging the industry and thousands of livelihoods it supports nationwide. Here is a letter that could be used ukhbf.org/hbf-news/

Close to 50% of those who replied to our poll before the Derby had their bet size reduced - should bookmakers have their licence withdrawn if they aren't willing to take a sensible bet? Respond Yes or No and/or add comments below

Should bookmakers be allowed to claim "we were best price on this race" if they are restricting vast swathes of their customers to smaller bets?

The HBF echoes the BHA view that any increase in the tax rate on racing bets will adversely affect the sport, and would add that any costs will be passed on to bettors via restrictions, bonus removals, and account closures. Once again, the punter will pay the price
