This was a wonderful chat with the @TheUCS473 really allowed me to get into the detail of Meiktila. And yes, A Change it Jungles is out there, but can be a bit expensive. It is a truly extraordinary book though.
Keeping the jungle warfare theme going next month. Great chat with @HistoryBowsh re his latest book "Thunder Run Meiktila 1945". Jack also put me on to "A Change of Jungles" which I have never heard of previously. Out of print unfortunately but trying to track down a copy.

Blesma Member @Hari_BudhaMagar has conquered Mt. Olympus, becoming the 1st double leg amputee to summit this historic peak! The Gurkha lost both legs to an IED blast whilst on tour in Afghanistan. He took up climbing during his recovery and has since summitted Everest 🫡💪

This is where I was last night. I realise Monday night is a quiet night for pubs, but it was sad, nonetheless, to see so beautiful a place, right in the centre of London, so deserted. Pub culture is on its last legs, & it’s only a few old farts like myself who are lamenting it.
