THREAD: Today we flew in Chopper9 for nearly 5 hours to get a look at the damage in Western North Carolina. What we saw was devastating. @wsoctv These are some of the images: 📍Riverside Dr NW Charlotte
Ian Epstein made everyone smile. Before he was a flight attendant, the Charlotte resident sold campers at Camping World in Concord. His former coworkers tell me he was especially skilled and in his time there, he was one of the best salesmen in the company @wsoctv
In honor of Mother’s Day….not a dry eye on the field at my little cousins senior night in Rock Hill last week 🥹
We are at the White House talking to administration officials about President Trump’s first 100 days. Coverage tonight at 5&6 on @wsoctv and this Sunday on The Political Beat
#NEXT at 5:30 : A Channel 9 Exclusive honoring fallen heroes. @wsoctv @HannahGoetztv
Check out my latest story from WNC:
Undefeated western NC football team uplifts community hit hard by Helene wsoctv.com/news/local/und…
Since Hurricane Helene hit Western NC more than three wks ago, we’ve seen an outpouring of support and assistance from across the nation. Here’s a glimpse at what we’ve been able to accomplish when we work together. #NCStrong #HeleneNC Need assistance? ➡️egateway.fema.gov/ESF6/DRCLocator
We won't stop until the work is done. The full force of the federal family continues to work around the clock to aid both #Helene & #Milton recovery efforts forward.
Taking a moment from Helene coverage to announce I have been promoted to Sunday evening anchor at @wsoctv . It’s been a busy year and even busier month, but I couldn’t be prouder of the work our team has done or more thankful for the opportunity.

As cellphone towers come back online in Western NC, remember these tips:
Cellphone providers are working hard to restore cell service in Western NC. 📴 Please help out by turning your phone off and restarting it regularly to reconnect. 📱 Once back online, support our first responders by avoid sending videos to keep bandwidth clear for emergencies.
Misinformation can spread quickly after a disaster, causing confusion and distrust within communities struggling to recover. Unfortunately, we’re seeing this during our response to Hurricane Helene. Sharing rumors online without first vetting the source and verifying facts…
As we begin another day of storm rescue and relief efforts, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all first response teams working to help save lives and help those who have been greatly impacted by #HeleneNC. Stay safe. 📷 credit: Michigan Taskforce 1
The North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund is live. If you’re able to give, please consider a donation to help North Carolinians as they clean up and recover from Helene. You can donate at nc.gov/donate.
Leave roads in western NC open for emergency vehicles and rescue crews.
🚨 REMINDER: 𝘼𝙇𝙇 𝙍𝙊𝘼𝘿𝙎 in Western North Carolina should be considered 𝘾𝙇𝙊𝙎𝙀𝘿. I-40 and I-26 are impassable in multiple locations. ⚠️ Travel in this area for non-emergency purposes is hindering needed emergency response. #ncwx #Helene
Asheville, the Buncombe County Register of Deeds office has wi-fi. If you need to reach out to your loved ones. We are at 205 College St in downtown Asheville.
He’s backkkkkkkkkk….but only for a few days! @SUdelson is joining us from retirement to help with post Helene coverage. It was so great to work with him tonight!
