A huge step forward for the Type 31 programme, HMS Venturer successfully completed her first entry into the water – a milestone on her journey to becoming a fully operational warship. She now starts the next phase of outfit and systems integration in Rosyth before sea trials.

#OnThisDay 110 years ago King George V opened Rosyth Dockyard. A major Naval Base until the 1990's, Rosyth is now operated by Babcock Marine and is the site at which the Royal Navy's Type 31 Inspiration Class Frigates are in build.
