It was "play right or......" We had repercussions for not playing right. Do you like a game when people don't play right?
Yes Gregg that’s the joke! The reason you give for your era being better is that you would hit someone in the head! On a related topic, why should the youth of today take seriously the opinions of generations of men whose go-to was giving each other brain damage? Cobwebs
Nothing new. The track man helps to tinker with new grips.
Splinker, I hate it every time I hear it.
You were right on smooth and loose arm.
No need to apologize, I see your perspective. At the complex games with nobody around in most cases it’s easier to hear people communicating metrics/data/pitch IDs etc. no need to overreach/brag about him. I’ve only seen 5 appearances in person but he looks good for low milb
Hope you can get some O’s fans to help.
Appreciate You my man. Always a great talk with u.
Wasn’t trying to be a dick, really don’t know. Hope some Os friends can help.
I lol'd .... obvious but hilarious to see written.....
I don’t, I’m sure of the O’s fans on here will. I don’t get to roam around and eat/ during the game.
Hey @GreggOlson30 any tips for the boys tonite at Camden yards. Last time they were there was when they were 8. Making the trek from Philly area
Thank you. What data people for Min.?
Omgosh wow! The computers/data people for Min were right there. In Port Charlotte they have it on the scoreboard. He lasted .2 IP there but hit 101.7 as a high, 10@ twice and 99+ several times You were my favorite player on my favorite team otter. Respect always🟧⬛️
Pitchers can maintain velocity at top end for two innings. I think it may be more likely that the board is amped up by a few mph. Seen it happen in MLB. Sorry, didn’t mean to question you - just see so many on here “touched 98 today” then look at the video and it’s not close.
If you follow me Id be happy to send you his pitches from TB’s stadium The view’s rough & there’s less pitches but I kept them They also don’t appear top end fast but I read the mph off the board Do you think it’s reasonable for athletes to normalize 100+ for multiple innings?
Yea, that one wins. best day ever. How I didn't get the win, crossing over the 5th inn., threw the best of the relievers. Thanks.
This one must be in the running x.com/TheFrizz87/sta…
Looks like 94-95. Serious on 102?
🟧⬛️Every now and then you see some special stuff when you have a video camera. Orioles arm Esteban Mejia is that rare thrower with skills that are simply not common. Yes he can throw 102+ but it’s his balance & lack of violence in the motion that’s so special or unique
First real save vs. Oak. in '89, April. 2 IP, 4 K, SAVE
MLB sir
We were talking fb to the head. I’ll win. That was it.
The tweet you QT’d is talking about an actual fight! Disavow the Turk or I’ll think you’re trying to arrange a brawl!
You talked about throwing at someone's head. I said you wouldn't get up from mine. Now you want a fistfight? You read well or too many headshots?
Wait is Gregg Olson now saying “I would if I could” to a bare knuckle brawl? This is escalating fast and I’ll start selling the PPV. Time and place! In this corner, age 58 at 6’4 210 pounds, Gregg Olson, and in this corner, age indiscriminate at 6’9 270 pounds, Ol Gregg!
Yea, no.... They're afraid to go back. Watch when guys start throwing power sinkers again. Watch when guys value a ball in play with 2 strikes. Watch the playoffs - see guys getting runners over and sac bunting? When it matters? I do.
Analytics themselves came from “rocking the boat” Everyone used to be “old school”. Until a few teams started doing things differently and having success, then everyone else caught up. Same thing in NFL with 4th downs If there’s an edge to be had going back, someone will do it
That's a huge piece for me. The biggest piece, they (analytics) dont value the individual batter vs. pitcher in sequences and shifts. Zero - they call them a "luck" value. They have ZERO idea how important they really are. e.g. Gregg Olson vs. Dave Parker.
There is no feel in analytics no setting batters up and messing with timing I hate analytics
Many, now, can and will throw a cutter/change/slider behind in the count. I chose to challenge in spots, 1-0, 2-1. Tried to locate when a CH might be in play.
Greg do you see a difference in pitchers then and now other than pitch counts. My friend just chimed in about location most today can not locate a pitch if their life depended on it.
I know but I can't go, "let's meet"
These guys on here Gregg talk like they're tough but when you go face to face they clam up and drop there heads down Mike Tyson said it the best everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face 😂
Alright. you want to have a real talk? Ask away
No, I wasn’t. That’s the problem with this site. Nobody can just have fun anymore.
they don't want ex players in the front office, look around
Seems like a missed opportunity. Especially if what you old men preach was even partially true. You'd even "fix" the game as a whole after you have monumental success. Wonder why it never happens
