Congratulations to our new Greenwich Green councillor @tamasinrhymes. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this happen. And thank you to the previous Shooters Hill councillor @iviswill for her support and laying the ground for Tamasin. greenwichwire.co.uk/2025/06/27/lab…
Scottish Greens speak @scottishgreens Patrick Harvie: “Trump is a dangerous, fraudulent, misogynistic climate-change denier who claims to love our country while destroying our natural landscapes with garish golf courses & resorts for the wealthy.” archive.is/2025.07.26-174…
Hasn’t finance for car sales helped the increase of SUV sales? 54% of the cars sold in 2024 were SUVs, including petrol, diesel, hybrids and electric makes. Result? The world is heating up. @RachelReevesMP bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
Today I was honoured to attend a hugely important event on Vision Zero at City Hall, ran by the indomitable Assembly member Caroline Russell, Green group leader and Transport Lead. She started with a powerful speech. “Vision Zero is the most important policy that TFL has. - 1/12
‘Guess he forgot?’ Clearly @Len_Duvall doesn’t use the lift himself. I can understand why politicians representing central and W London - with their myriad bridges - don’t care about us here in S E London, but Mr Duvall? You were elected to care. What are you doing about this?
I wrote to Duvall some time ago to ask if he would get involved in trying to get the Woolwich tunnel north lift repaired. Got a reply from one of his staff explaining that he was aware the lift is out. That was it. Well it’s been out almost 3 years now, I guess he forgot.
We’ve been doing some research and found this. Yet at the full council meeting last night the answers were wholly inadequate. Functionality is not being maintained (Woolwich north lift hasn’t worked for three years) & we ask who, exactly, wrote this uninformed response?
Back in May TfL said they understood RBG had ‘recently installed equipment to allow for live tracking of the lift status’. This is clearly far from the truth. Tunnel users deserve to know what’s going on and why they’re being severely compromised. @TfL @SebDance @LiftPrecision…
At last! Greenwich Green, Cllr Tamasin Rhymes at her first full Council meeting last night asking questions on behalf of constituents. So proud.

Two Hammersmith and Fulham councillors defect over toxic Labour culture and are critical of government policy on housing, immigration and disability mylondon.news/news/west-lond… @Lizcollins777 @Trey_CS
Proof that Silvertown itself, contrary to the Mayor and @SebDance's claims, actually increases traffic and pollution. Even the weekend tolls of £1.50 on Blackwall aren't enough to counteract this increase. The weekday tolls of £1.50 and £4 at peak do manage to, so far.

Proof here that the Labour candidate’s letter sent out to residents during the Shooters Hill by-election contained falsehoods. Thank you for checking @iviswill. Residents deserve better. Who will be held to account for this? @refpoliticalads
I submitted two Freedom of Information Requests to verify @Royal_Greenwich responsibility for the building's structural integrity of @ShrewsburyHse and to clarify the claim about #asbestos in #GreenGarth 28 Mereworth Drive, see Council responses 👇

🚨BREAKING🚨 ICJ ruling that a healthy environment is a human right could be a real turning point in setting out governments’ legal responsibility to tackle #climate crisis 👇 theguardian.com/environment/20…
“2015-2023 the fossil fuel sector received £20bn more support than renewables; £80bn versus £60bn. It’s not difficult to work out why Reform UK don’t want to challenge oil & gas subsidies; they are financed by backers with huge interests in that sector.” lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/25330622.…
It was frustrating to see nothing has changed at Orchard estate. Repairs teams are literally papering over the cracks or just doing nothing at all despite a survey published *three years ago*. On another estate we saw raw sewage - we now have a case number & thank online staff.
Greenwich Greens Stacy and Karin in action again today. Whether it’s litter picking, removing weeds where they cause a trip hazard, speaking to residents on the Orchard estate or saving a tree here & there, it’s all about getting things done.
Some good news! It's very encouraging that @Royal_Greenwich have adopted our initiative for residents to opt out of glyphosate spraying on their street.

Could people cycling outnumber drivers in London in the coming years? It's already happened in the City of London at peak commuting times and cycling journeys are a third of Tube journeys each day, and keep rising. inews.co.uk/news/charts-sh…
“We’re trying to be more positive about how we adapt gardens and habitats to the threat of climate change & the carbon cycle & highlight some of the solutions or at least the mitigations that we can make to manage some of the impacts of climate change.” theguardian.com/environment/20…
Our Watering Champions have been vital over the past few weeks as we've faced unusually high temperatures ☀️🌡️ With hotter summers becoming our new normal, we need even more people to pledge to look after their local street trees. Will you step up? Find out more 👉…
I have contacted the Royal Parks management to see if a solution can be found during busier times but an extra bin or two out on the street might be helpful at this time of year.
Thank you for taking this trouble to care for our environment . With extra visitors & activities our services are stretched - much appreciate the care you have taken 🌈🏅
