Escalate Now Cutty Sark DLR
@EscalateCSDLR
A Community group for local residents who put pressure on TfL to replace all four escalators! Start date Sat 31st May! We will monitor progress on your behalf.
We’re very proud too! And we won’t stop there - signage at Greenwich DLR isn’t up to the job for our “world-famous” UNESCO World Heritage site 🗣️ 📣@Royal_Greenwich👇. TfL has had plenty of time to plan for this. How ‘closely’ exactly, are they working with Greenwich?
Just heard announcement loud and clear at Canary Wharf station saying Cutty Sark DLR will close until next spring to replace all four escalators. So proud to have led a community campaign with incredible people! #PeoplePower #CommunityDriven #CommunityEngagement @EscalateCSDLR
The status of Greenwich foot tunnel lifts was updated yesterday after 3 weeks but status remains the same except for intermittent south lift breakdowns. Works have commenced on north lift but there was no one there when a user checked at 14:30 nor at 19:00 with rags & tools in…

Unfortunately the south lift is now out despite sign saying it’s working. On north side the shaft pit is full of water. Wondering how long it was left like that.
We spoke to this couple today. They often use the DLR but this was closed. They say they checked the website before leaving but that it’s not always reliable. They’ll still have to carry the pram up steps when they return home later. When elderly parents visit on a day like today…
This contractor (did they take over from Apex who fitted the lifts?) have moved the lift to top thus revealing the area at ground level and it doesn’t look good. I’m not a lift engineer but it looks like more than a spare part is needed.
This restaurant is in a @UNESCOUK buffer zone. Tables, chairs and planters abandoned on the street! Again! @Royal_Greenwich
It’s a shame trees were abandoned after closure of a restaurant on Greenwich High road. I watered them until the amazing Christchurch Community Garden transported them to theirs for loving care.Yes. I love trees & think we should take better care of them for future generations.
Cross river routes are important too, Will. Can @MayorofLondon look into this please? People here are fed up with carrying bikes & pushchairs up nearly 100 steps. #AndyLord
Great to see the cycle route option on @TfL Go now shows users what percentage of their journey will be on a Cycleway, and where those sections are located. We’ve also integrated elevation data to be able to show how and where a route climbs and descends. #LondonLovesCycling
The usual issues with abandoned Lime bikes and now Forest bikes which have been here for nearly a week (we’ve contacted them). @limebike - your plan to ensure bikes cut out before they reach this tunnel isn’t working. However, we think lift repairs are a priority!

#LondonLovesCycling across the river too. Give SE Londoners a river cycle and pedestrian crossing.

Hi @TfL. This is the most ridiculous response by far regarding access to Greenwich and Woolwich Foot Tunnels. Your member of staff seems to think pedestrians & cyclists can use the Silvertown Tunnel which is 2 miles away! ! A very uneducated, uninformed and unhelpful response…

I find it inconceivable that after all these years (lifts faulty since at least 2013.)that RBG do not have a bank of spare parts. Why wait for a quote? Why these excuses? Investment is vital now that the proposed Rotherhithe bridge is cancelled & let’s not leave Woolwich out..
The latest update-@Royal_Greenwich is waiting on a quote for a spare part. Only laughable if it was not about a key cross London travel hub for thousands daily. The Council are incompetent .Enough of this - time for TFL to take over and install new lifts. @MayorofLondon
Massive contrast to streets south of the river around the Silvertown tunnel and much of Greenwich peninsula linking to Charlton and east Greenwich. It's the difference that s106 and CIL funds can achieve, alongside leveraging them with external funding such as TfL cash
Cycle route connoisseur @joncstone says new North Woolwich Road lanes might be one of the best new cycleways in all of London. We'll certainly get behind that! Congrats @NewhamLondon @rokhsanafiaz @CllrSarahRuiz & all on an extraordinary transformation. youtube.com/watch?v=o3mahB…

They build the new Silvertown Tunnel and have a bus service to carry cycles. However, they need to look after existing infrastructure first.
