What a fantastic evening at the @BarbicanCentre with the @londonsymphony and Antonio Pappano. Loved the thundering and steadfast Jochanaan, Michael Volle ❤️👏 👏and the seductive, wicked, beautiful Salome, Asmik Gregorian ❤️👏👏 Marvellous sounds from the orchestra and singers.

Sunday afternoon at ROH, Aida. Anna Pirozzi was the 🌟 , whether it was strength or vulnerability, she did it beautifully. A Enkhbat, R Bryce-Davies, A Köpeczi, R Massi, all sang well 👏. I saw this staging for the first time, and for me, it worked🤷🏻♀️.
Saw #Maria, very disappointed. Jolie is the star here, close shots, lavish dresses, rooms and superficial references to Callas’ life… For me, the greatness and the tragedy didn’t come through, 👿 the voice fusions, and why Va, pensiero, was the closing music? Lack of choice?
