Germany in Ramallah

The time has come to end the war in Gaza. We – France, the United Kindom and Germany – urge all parties to bring an end to the conflict by reaching an immediate ceasefire:

We condemn the recent arson attack by violent settlers on the ancient church of #Taybeh in the #Westbank. The recurring attacks threaten lives & livelihoods. Palestinians must be protected from settler violence, incidents must be investigated & those responsible held accountable.

Another outbreak of settler violence in Taybeh, North-East of Ramallah: by arson-attacks and land-grabbing, settlers are threatening the very existence of this last fully Christian village in the Westbank. The perpetrators must be stopped and the safety of the population ensured!

Reports about violent settler attack on international journalists, including a German correspondent, are extremely worrying. The freedom of press and the safety of journalists must be guaranteed. In view of the continuous rise in extremist settler violence their work is essential

Chancellor Merz: Now is also the moment to conclude a ceasefire for Gaza. We are not losing sight of the bigger picture: We allow ourselves to critically question what goal Israel wants to achieve there and how a more dignified treatment of the people can be achieved.

We successfully participated in yesterday’s repatriation of another 178 German citizens, incl. staff from various 🇩🇪 organizations. Thanks to @team_luftwaffe, they all made it home safely. Grateful for the tireless efforts of everyone involved in this difficult situation.

أكد وزير الخارجية الألمانية 🇩🇪 يوهان فاديفول في مقابلة أُجريت معه أمس أن #حماس ارتكبت جريمة مروعة في 7 أكتوبر 2023، ولا تزال ترتكب جريمة من خلال احتجاز الرهائن. وقال إن قتال #إسرائيل ضد حماس مبرر، لكنه شدد على ضرورة وجود تناسب في هذا القتال.
