Grassroots players, coaches, volunteers and parents seeking fairness for women and girls in Gaelic Games.
change.org/LGFA-ReviewTra… Gaels For Fair Play has launched a petition urging the LGFA to review its transgender policy that lets trans-identifying males from the age of 12 upwards to play Ladies Gaelic Football. Please sign if you believe in fairness and safety for women and girls.
US Fencing restores integrity to the female category. All across the world, more & more sporting bodies are choosing to uphold fairness & safety for women & girls. Meanwhile, @LadiesFootball stubbornly clings to a flawed version of inclusion that robs female players of fair play.
🚨 Breaking: New “USA Fencing Transgender and Non-Binary Policy” will require competitors in the women’s category to be female.
Parents have raised concerns at all levels, club, county and with LGFA HQ, all attempts to get answers or raise legitimate are completely ignored. At local level clubs were completely unaware of trans policy until patents brought it to their attention.
The integrated GAA is going to have a nightmare on its hands; logistically, ethically, legally & reputationally, if it persists with an inclusion strategy that makes females play against males. It can't be done safely or fairly, as other sports have shown. Gave to change course.

It would take just one high-ranking Gaelic Games official with courage to say to diversity teams & special interest groups, 'We are committed to inclusion but letting males play LGFA & camogie undermines fairness & safety for our female members - we have to find a better way'.

I will never, ever be able to reconcile the fact that @LadiesFootball stands behind an initiative aimed at tackling violence against women - in all its forms - while having a policy in place that coerces women & girls into playing against & undressing in front of males.
We applaud the GAA's Game Changer initiative that aims to 'harness the influence of Gaelic games in Irish society to tackle domestic, sexual & gender-based violence'. But it MUST address the physical, mental & emotional impact on females as a result of males in @LadiesFootball.

LGFA chiefs did not ask women & girls if they consented to play against & share changing rooms with males. The organisation that supports the White Ribbon initiative aimed at tackling male violence against women - in all its forms - is itself practising coercive control.
"It is a form of 'coercive inclusion' that relies on the expectation that women will be kind enough to sacrifice their own recognition & protection for the sake of others'. 'Coercive inclusion' is exactly what @LadiesFootball chiefs have done by including males without consent.

The UN Rapporteur @UNSRVAW explains this, in her recent UN Report, as violence against Women and Girls; “coercive inclusion” Self ID is one of these Laws, where Women’s sex based needs and rights are sacrificed. 10 Years of 🇮🇪 Self ID ohchr.org/en/documents/t…
There was a clause in the draft version of the GRA allowing for the exclusion of biological males from female sports 'if it is deemed necessary to secure fair competition or the safety of other competitors'. It was removed. Because then - as now - women & girls mattered least.
SPORT: Ireland's Katie Taylor won against Serrano last night for the 3rd time at age 39. She's reported to be the best sports person from Ireland of all time. Katie exemplifies all the qualities needed to be a champion of this level. The fact remains, female to female sport is…
We'll say it because Netflix won't: Katie Taylor is the greatest of all time
It's heartbreaking to see women's safety and fair competition being ignored like this. Female athletes deserve better.
It's really disappointing when women's sports aren't prioritized. Safety and fairness should come first.
This is so disappointing... women's sports deserve to be protected and taken seriously.
It's so frustrating when women's safety and fairness take a backseat like this. Why can't they just listen to the concerns?
In Ireland, there is no legal obligation to include trans-identifying males in female sport. The LGFA is not compelled to do it; it is CHOOSING to do it. Camogie is considering the same. No sport governing body with integrity would jeopardise the safety of women & girls.
The LGFA, despite overwhelming evidence that allowing males to play is unsafe & unfair for females, is ploughing on regardless. Now @OfficialCamogie is considering doing the same. Why are our Gaelic Games leaders pursuing an inclusion strategy that is harmful to women & girls?

In 2022, @IrishRugby had a choice to make about male inclusion in women's rugby: i. abdicate its responsibility to the safety of its female players ii. uphold its responsibility to the safety of its female plaers It put safety first. Why won't @LadiesFootball do the same?
Is there a single person involved in Gaelic Games inclusion policy asking, 'If the only way to include trans-identifying males in the female category is to remove safety & fairness for women and girls, is this a price we're willing to pay? Shouldn't we find a better way?'

One for .@GaelsFairPlay to show the sporting bodies.......
Well I never.
The @officialgaa, which governs male football & hurling, has yet to announce a policy on the inclusion of biological females in the male category. If it decides it's unsafe for females to play against males, how will its sister association @LadiesFootball justify doing just that?
For 10 years, @FA authorised males to play in women’s football. Women who voiced concerns about the increased injury risk and lack of consent were ignored, silenced or banned Now the FA spell out the risk in great detail but this time to put off females choosing to play males
