UPDATE in US v. STORM: IRS blockchain tracer Stephan George today testified that he traced 9.7 ETH derived from the defrauding of Hanfeng Lin to Tornado Cash using Chainalysis and TRM Labs tools. Also, prosecutors indulge in some light heckling of @davidzmorris.
You may have a masters in accounting. But I can detect changes of ownership. You can LIFO to the fucking moon and back. But I can tell you that the victims funds didnt flow through a Chinese addy with a billy+ in volume that’s 2 hops away from Hyon Sop Sim & Lu Huaying.
I don’t know what verdict the jury will return. But I do know that juries deserve the truth. We can’t find any evidence that in this attack this witness’s funds were sent to a Coinbase account. The government needs to acknowledge error or explain what’s been missed— now.
The State's choice to have this victim re-live her loss, on the stand, FOUR YEARS LATER is........a lot. All so the jury could hear that Roman didn't respond to an inquiry sent to the catchall email on TC's homepage regarding funds that weren't even the victim's??
