Have seen this fossil up close during my PhD - the holotype of Carcharodon hubbelli. Genuinely one of the most incredible fossils I’ve ever looked at 🦈

It's really quite incredible the way we have to tolerate Adobe products. I guess the performance issues, constant crashes, and massive CPU and memory usage are special, exclusive features!
Not paleo, but this is the musician part of my bio lol. To celebrate #Jaws50, I wanna share a snippet of the iconic score. I love that percussive thing John Williams does with the trombones on alternative up and down beats (also very prevalent in War of the Worlds' score).
Meant to post this earlier! But it's #FossilFriday, & also #Jaws50thAnniversary 🦈, one of my favs! This 5-million-year-old ancestral great white shark fossil is from Peru's famed Pisco Formation. *Almost* a modern GWS, it doesn't quite have the teeth serrations of today's.
