Honored to be mentioned in the first paragraph of @CriterionDaily's write up of the books to read this month!

Big congrats to my buddy @FilmNerdDave on the publication of THERE’S NO GOING BACK: THE LIFE AND WORK OF JONATHAN DEMME, exactly the kind of funky and collegial biography this great artist deserves.
I received a glowing message from Craig McKay, Jonathan Demme's longtime friend and editor, thanking me for writing the book and that Demme would've loved it. Validation from your sources never felt so good!
Denzel Washington’s performance in Philadelphia reminds me of Tom Cruise’s performance in Rain Man. Both played second fiddle to a man who won Best Actor & neither received the praise they deserved for their supporting roles. Hanks is great here, but Denzel is this film’s glue.
