Part 20 | Finally, for the coup de gras, coach Fritz Crisler calls the fake spin reverse end-around pass with the blocking back passing successfully to the right end for the touchdown. Final score: Michigan 49, USC 0.
Part 19 | With the game well in hand, the “Mad Magicians” go deep into the bag of tricks with a spin reverse end around. The blocking back is showing buck lateral series, just to add further eye candy. Downright diabolical.
Part 18 | Now in the fourth quarter, Fritz Crisler calls a spin reverse pass with the wingback passing. As he sets up, he looks back toward the right and hits the tailback wheeling out of the backfield on a throwback route. Perfection. Michigan 42, USC 0.
I’ve posted this before, but it’s still one of my all-time favorite trap blocks. Scored 85 that night!

One of the kindest, most sincere, passionate, loving people I have ever met. And when he looked at you with that twinkle in his eye, you knew he was proud of you. He would still tell you, but he didn't have to. He made a lot of boys into better men.
The Commonwealth experienced a great loss today. Coach Lineburg was not only an exceptional coach but an even more remarkable human being—one of the most caring and compassionate individuals I’ve known. Truly one of a kind-touched countless lives over his 45-year career. 🖤💛
A Legend in every sense. Our community has suffered a great loss. Coach Lineburg was a coach and mentor to so many young people, his influence will carry on. Our deepest condolences to the Lineburg family and our community.
Part 17 | With a sizeable lead in the second half, the “Mad Magicians” keep coming. Crisler calls the buck lateral end around designated as “142” in his 1947 playbook. While we don’t see it here, there is definitely a lateral possibility as the tailback trails downfield.
I am grateful to @JermaineFerrell and @WFXRsports for their interest in covering The Bandana Express. Jermaine was recently honored as the top sportscaster in Virginia, and his devotion to high school sports is one of the reasons why. If you aren't already watching his coverage…
Part 16 | Here, we see a version of the buck lateral pass that Crisler called “141 Transcontinental.” The tag indicates that the passer will throw it all the way back across the field on a throwback route. In this case, to the blocking back for the touchdown. Michigan 28, USC 0.
