I’m a sports historian wearing my “Team Mongo” (for his fight against ALS) shirt today. Steve McMichael (to me) doesn’t get enough credit for his role on the ‘85 Bears defense. Sure you had Hampton, Dent & Singletary, but I don’t think “Mongo” is truly appreciated for his role.

Mark Lineburg and I talked at Brookville’s kids camp (we became in the middle of a drill, but I wanted the kids in the background) We talked kids camp, his legendary father Norm & so much more. (And yes I misspoke, I am pretty sure Lynchburg has not been granted state hood)
TUESDAY July 29th is the day, The Bandana Express is released. Jeremy Haymore will be signing copies from 4:30-6:30 at Givens Books that day too. In this episode, @FearTheWing talked about capturing the communities as well as football. tinyurl.com/47m7k8ry
The Bandana Express comes out on Saturday (Jeremy Haymore talks about the book signing) I asked Coach Haymore, why write the book in the format that it's in. It's almost more of lead up's in each chapter, @FearTheWing talks about why write it like he did tinyurl.com/3czes6va
tinyurl.com/2s489hsm The Bandana Express is released on the 29th of this month. Author, Jeremy Haymore @FearTheWing talked about the process of leaving facts he found interesting out of the book.
A Legend in every sense. Our community has suffered a great loss. Coach Lineburg was a coach and mentor to so many young people, his influence will carry on. Our deepest condolences to the Lineburg family and our community.
thesportsbuffetpodcast.wordpress.com/2025/07/17/rip… Just some writings reflecting on someone I never met/talked to.
Never had the opportunity to meet Norm Lineburg, but knowing his son Mark, and hearing all the great words about him, I don’t know what you can say but “what a credit” not just to the coaching profession but to the human race. RIP, Mr Lineburg
Jeremy Haymore @FearTheWing is the author of "The Bandana Express", I asked him why people, if they aren't history nuts like me, would like the book if they aren't a fan of the Giles Spartans. tinyurl.com/yc3ktvnm
Another local coach leaving. The ODAC will have a new face in women’s basketball as Steve Lanpher departs Randolph to become an assistant at Cleveland State
Who am I? Especially if I request to interview you and you don’t know me. thesportsbuffetpodcast.wordpress.com/2025/07/16/bob…
Jeremy Haymore is the author of the "Bandana Express" detailing the run of the Giles Spartans. Here this interview now when he answers "Why" write the book. tinyurl.com/3w336v9v @FearTheWing
We are saddened to learn of the passing of Blue Jays great, Jim Clancy. Clancy spent 12 of his 15 Major League seasons with Toronto - including an All-Star appearance in 1982 - and ranks second in franchise history in starts, innings pitched, and complete games. His impact on…
Want to get your book AND get it signed? Well you got it, July 29 at Givens Books. The author of the “Bandana Express” (who I’ll be interviewing today & posting it this week) you can do so. A LOCAL Author takes you back to the rich football tradition of the Giles Spartans

Best sports documentary that you have seen that isn’t an ESPN, 30 for 30 and where did you see it?

Two new baseball coaches in the area next year, as Altavista will find someone to fill the shoes of Keith Pieper, and Rustburg’s Chris Carr will also have his head coaching position filled. I decided to use a blog to honor both men. thesportsbuffetpodcast.wordpress.com/2025/07/12/goo…
Coaches may have a different take. I am not a fan of the halftime interviews on the “sidelines” but I’ll concede on that. I can live with that but watching fights & NBA games, where they talk to coaches/trainers during the game or on timeouts, yours truly (me) not a fan.
Very good interview, you should definitely check it out
