Our latest study, led by @Homaira_H. Hard to study #macrophages (MFs) in early human heart development (no tissue). Homaira integrated human ES-derived-MFs into beating cardiac microtissues & improved🫀function. rdcu.be/dHbj0. #cardioimmunology #regeneration.

Scientists @PMResearch_UHN led by @Schwartastic have developed CellNEST, a powerful AI tool that maps how cells talk to each other. By detecting complex signals between cells, it could lead to new ways to target tumours and stop disease progression. 🔗uhnresearch.ca/news/pinpointi…
Canada is stepping up in global #HealthInnovation. @UHN is launching the Canada Leads 100 Challenge - a bold initiative to recruit 100 top clinician-scientists from around the world. The goal? Transform Canada’s research economy.🔬
Congrats @Homaira_H for winning best poster at #bcvs2025 @AHAScience. You do @UHN_Research @PMunkCardiacCtr @TBEP_UofT @trogersresearch @CIHR_IRSC proud!
"Given the strength of the scientific evidence and the urgency of the public-health costs, we urge the scientific community and policy makers to recognize the addictive potential of ultra-processed food and its consequences." nature.com/articles/s4159…
Our Collaborative Centre for Clinical Research is leading the IA45 initiative with a goal that all clinical research studies can be activated in 45 days. Good for patients, good for research progress.
👋👋👋Special shoutout to @UHN @UHN_Research THE PROTOCOL WAS ACTIVATED WITHIN 45 DAYS OF SUBMISSION, per the new IA45 pathway. The extreme dedication/efficiency of the whole team is unparalleled.

I’m happy to share our latest work on tumour necrosis! During my time in the @megeblad lab, we found that tumour necrosis is not a passive phenomenon secondary to tumour growth, but an active phenomenon driven by neutrophils and NETs! Thread below: (1/13) nature.com/articles/s4158…
Analyzing human myocarditis at the tissue transcriptomics levels, with two different platforms, we found that the disease is characterize by widespread molecular perturbations independent of leukocyte-rich foci. Myocarditis is not so patchy after all! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Too much waste. Too much waiting. Too much #scanxiety. Happy to share that we received @CIHR_IRSC funding for the JUSTIFY RCT (NCT06930521), which will test a novel approach to reduce mandatory routine heart imaging during HER2+ #breastcancer treatment. #CardioOncology
💥 A gut microbe metabolite that drives #atherosclerosis? Yes—Imidazole propionate (ImP) triggers vascular inflammation without changing cholesterol. 🧪 We show the pathway—and how to block it. nature.com/articles/s4158… #OpenAccess at @Nature @CNIC_CARDIO #microbiome #CVD
