To echo EDF’s Andrew Baxter, I'm deeply disappointed to see a return to the gas flaring levels of 2007. Reducing this “egregious waste of resources” is low-hanging fruit. We need stronger limits and protections on this pollution and waste.

Weather and flood forecasting has greatly advanced in past 40 years. Yet so has climate change and intensity/frequency of storms -- and now a record 3,040 flash flood alerts (Jan. 1-July 15) have been issued, the most in that period since the modern warning system began in 1986.
