The justice system continually fails survivors of sexual violence. It failed me and now it has failed again. This doesn’t mean to give up, this means that we have to keep fighting for a system that is equitable and fair and educated so survivors can get the justice they deserve.

dismissing the jury when the defense was the ones who caused the issues both times and then ruling this biased and gross yourself should have you fired immediately

a woman has to give perfect, consistent details of the most traumatic moment of her life with no room for error and even then it usually still isn’t enough. while men can lie through their teeth and change their story multiple times over and still be believed over the victim.

and nobody supporting this verdict will bother acknowledging the wealth of excluded evidence + the fact that this was only judge-adjudicated because the defense counsel fucked with the jury after there was already a mistrial… this case was doomed bc of the legal system

One of the best moments of this season was when Jesse Puljujarvi came in for his video headshot. I asked him if he wanted to do one with his tongue out because the rest of the team "did a silly one". He obliged without question. What a legend.

If you’re celebrating today’s verdict as a personal victory and taking the time to individually troll strangers on the internet about it, then I can only assume it’s because you need the reassurance of a broken system that will allow you to get away with the same atrocities

They really roped E.M. into reliving her trauma for months on end just for a judge to call her a liar at the end of the mock trial designed to pretend our police and legal system protect and seek justice for victims. Very cool.
