If you see this pic, reply with 🇵🇸 spread it 💔
Ian Hislop, "It is pretty ludicrous we have got to a state where a man is arrested for carrying a joke? I mean, freedom of expression, freedom of speech, all those things we claim to be interested in?" Shame on @YvetteCooperMP and @Keir_Starmer - this isn't the change any of us…
tes.com/magazine/news/… “The assurance the sector needs is for Ofsted & the government to rethink the current proposals & then introduce the new inspection system in a less frantic manner, giving schools & colleges time to absorb & prepare for what are very significant changes.”
tes.com/magazine/teach… A challenge of centrally prescribed policy is its remoteness from pupils. It needs interpreting & enacting by those in the wider community then communicated & understood by those who surround the child most closely. So September brings some welcome respite
Thank you Feargal Sharkey for your dedication to speak truth to power, for your intelligent and well informed critique. An effective challenge to political ineptitude (Conservative & Labour) and their malaise.
Feargal Sharkey explains that this £100bn figure everyone keeps quoting for the cost to renationalise the water industry comes from a report by the private companies! Feargal then outlines why nationalising the water industry wouldn't cost us a penny #GMB

bit.ly/44fDWJf "This was a real chance to bring in fresh thinking to vital roles, and it’s been squandered.” "Tom Bennett, a former DfE behaviour adviser, has publicly stated that he has applied."
tes.com/magazine/news/… Secondary Leaders (ASCL):"Amidst debate about the pressure these tests can place on children - demanding one-size-fits-all tests. A system of personalised assessments using the type of adaptive testing technology which is readily available would be better"
tes.com/magazine/news/… "The framework is designed to provide teachers and leaders with evidence-informed tools and reflection points.“It's not a checklist but a guide for improving confidence & practice, which will lead to improved pupil writing outcomes.”
tes.com/magazine/news/… The counter argument :"Young people are now more accustomed to using keyboards in the course of their lives than handwriting & scripts would be easier for markers to read & could be delivered to them immediately”. Let's move to the 21st Century.
buff.ly/VEsDReG “We need to ensure that every child has access to expert teaching as a universal foundation for inclusion, targeted support where it's needed & specialist support where that's the best solution - all based on high quality evidence about what's effective.”
tes.com/magazine/news/… “Exclusions & suspensions are near an all-time high & is a reflection of underlying issues. Principal among them is SEND & the balance for schools fundamentally between inclusion & the disadvantages posed to other students by a minority of poor behaviour”
bit.ly/44wd6v8 "New guidance will be published later this year setting out the roles of school staff in providing healthcare, amid concerns that school staff are being expected to deliver medical support." What about mental health & speech and language services?

tes.com/magazine/teach… "Training was effective: spatial ability & mathematics improved significantly for pupils who took part in the SPACE programme, relative to a control group. EEF evaluation of the pilot found benefits for inclusion with otherwise 'left-behind groups”.
