Empire State Voices
@ESVoices
We're a grassroots organization led by New Yorkers holding our members of Congress accountable
Last month, Dr. Christopher Hyson traveled to D.C. and urged his member of Congress to oppose a Republican effort to cut Medicaid for millions of Americans. This weekend, he published a letter calling on members of his upstate community to do the same: adirondackdailyenterprise.com/opinion/letter…
Yesterday ESV joined @1199SEIU, @nynurses, @CID_NY, @housingworks, and many more outside of @RepNicole's Bay Ridge office holding her accountable for voting for devastating cuts to Medicaid and SNAP

Today ESV joined @nynurses, @1199SEIU, @citizenactionny, and many more outside of @RepNicole's Staten Island office demanding she oppose proposed cuts to Medicaid & SNAP in Republicans’ disastrous reconciliation bill.

Today, Empire State Voices joined @CWADistrict1, and constituents of NY17 for a protest outside of @RepMikeLawler’s Mahopac town hall. We voiced opposition to his vote cutting Medicaid from hardworking New Yorkers, and demanded he voted no on the upcoming funding cuts.

Today, Empire State Voices joined our friends at @CWADistrict1, @westputwfp, @ccohope, and @MaketheRoadNY for a rally in Ossining, NY. Mike Lawler just voted to cut Medicare, Medicaid, and SNAP—all in order to fund tax breaks for the rich! The people of NY-17 say HELL NO!

Yesterday, ESV joined @LIProgress, @MaketheRoadNY, @1199SEIU, and many more to speak out against the passage of the Republican Healthcare Cuts and to hold @RepLaLota accountable for ignoring his constituents and voting YES for this disaster of a bill.

Last week, @RepMikeLawler voted to cut nearly $700 billion from Medicaid, putting tens of thousands of his own constituents at risk of losing their healthcare. We sent a truck to Madison Square Garden ahead of #Game2, to remind New Yorkers which team he's really playing for!

Not sure who to be more upset with today: @RepMikeLawler for voting to cut Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP for tens of thousands of his constituents in order to pay for tax breaks for billionaires Or @RepGarbarino, who wanted to, but couldn’t be bothered to stay awake for the vote
"If you're in the top 20%, you're gonna get 3.7% increase in after tax income from tax cuts. If you're in the bottom, you lose $800. You get a small tax cut and and a large cut in Medicaid and other benefits."
I will never vote for any legislation that does. Period. Full stop.
I will never vote for any legislation that does. Period. Full stop.
Under Pressure from Trump, Congressman Lawler FOLDS! empirestatevoices.org/press/052225
The House is days away from voting on massive Medicaid cuts. It doesn’t matter if you live in a small town or a big city; Medicaid keeps communities across the country safe and healthy. That’s why Republicans are speaking out against the devastating impact of Congress’s…
ESV joined @LtGovDelgado at his Inwood town hall, where he addressed pressing issues from health care and housing to fair taxation. New Yorkers spoke out against cuts to Medicaid and other vital programs they rely on to make ends meet. #LtGovDelgadoListens

Yesterday, Empire State Voices joined @HealthEdProject and @citizenactionny for a rally outside @RepNicole’s Staten Island Office. Constituents shared their stories about how Medicaid cuts would harm them and their families. #HandsOff our Medicaid!

Today, Empire State Voices joined @HealthEdProject, @1199SEIU, and @nynurses for a press conference in Peekskil around the harmful effects Medicaid cuts could bring to the Hudson valley. We call on @RepMikeLawler to vote no on any bill that cuts Medicaid.

Last night, Empire State Voices joined @LtGovDelgado for a Leaders Who Listen town hall in Sparkill. While @RepMikeLawler kicks people out, the Lt. Governor listens. He spoke about the importance of preserving Medicaid and the millions of New Yorkers that rely on it.

Today, Empire State Voices joined @LIProgress and a coalition of local groups at two rallies outside the offices of @RepLaLota and @RepGarbarino where constituents hand-delivered letters demanding no cuts to Social Security, Medicaid, and other earned benefits!
