The Dracula Society
@DracSoc
The Dracula Society was founded in 1973 by actors Bernard Davies and Bruce Wightman. It is a literary society for fans of the gothic. Visit our website to join.
Don't forget to order our new Anthology published in honour of our 50th Anniversary. Tales and poems written by fifteen members of the Society, together with a sixteenth exclusive tale from acclaimed author, Will Maclean. All inspired by Bram Stoker's classic novel.

Thank you for your fabulous talk Sue, Everyone loved it!
Thank you for inviting me! What a great evening I had, discovering just how much love there is in our Society for Mervyn Peake and his astonishingly wonderful work!
Don't forget our Summer Walk this Saturday: Hamilton Deane in West London. The walk will be led by our Travel Officer and Archivist, Adrian Autton.

We're so excited about Sue Gedge's @GothLover talk tonight. And we look forward to welcoming Members and Guests later. Remember Members, if you've forgotten to book, it's no problem, you're welcome to turn up and pay on the door. You know where we'll be :)

We're all looking forward to your talk tonight @GothLover - and there's no doubt you'll do Mervyn proud!
Looking forward to doing this!! Mervyn Peake, a writer and artist whose work I've loved for decades, hope to do him proud!
World Dracula Day - celebrated each year on on 26 May which is the date in 1897 that Bram Stoker's immortal Count first appeared in print.

Our Summer Meeting is fast approaching ... and we're looking forward to a talk from our own @GothLover SUE GEDGE, talking about the Gothic Genius of Mervyn Peake. Members may bring as many guests as they wish (£10 per person) - see our website for details. Can't wait Sue!

Looking forward to Antony Clayton's talk at our Spring Meeting, as he presents his latest book, MANSION OF GLOOM, and talks about Edgar Allan Poe's 'The Fall of the House of Usher'. Copies of the book will be available to buy after the meeting.

We've had a lot of different reviews for the new Nosferatu. Some loved it, some didn't. Thoughts?

HUGE thanks to the wonderfully talented Dr Ann Featherstone for her amazing presentation on Hamilton Deane last night at our March Meeting. (Ann is pictured below left with DS Chair, Julia Kruk.) We especially loved the spectacular finish!

Good to see our Winter issue of VOICES from the VAULTS has reached the other side of the world safely to DS Member Gordon Stoker. Thank you for your article, Gordon, we loved it!

A belated Happy New Year to you all! Our January Meeting is happening this weekend. An Annual screening of something suitably gruesome for Members and Guests. And who doesn't love Peter Cushing? And the first 2025 issue of Voices From the Vault will be arriving in February.

Nearly time for our Annual Dinner. Time to celebrate Bram Stoker's birthday and the creation of his immortal Count together with Special Guests and Members. Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!

The darker, spookier nights are back! Hallowe'en is close, and our wonderful Bram Stoker Dinner is only two weeks away. Don't you all love this time of year? Looking forward to welcoming all our fabulous special guests on the night!

What a fantastic Autumn Meeting for the Soc last Saturday, with the wonderful Dr John Llewellyn Probert and his classification of Mad Doctors in film. (Did you think it was just Dr Frankenstein?) Dr Probert is pictured on the right below, with Committee Member, Des Bradley.

Huge Congratulations from all of us James! @jamescswanton
