We won the public land battle together, as Americans. We will win again, as Americans, just as our ancestors did before us. But our enemies are relentless, and their resources are tremendous. Without further principled organization, I see a future where we lose a battle. We can’t…
More photos from the fieldwork for Dr Iree Wheeler and MS student Hannah Manire’s project on overcrowding across the National Park System. They’re focusing in on popular trails and asking visitors about tolerance for crowds

Keep an eye out for graduate students from @WildRecreation lab who are doing their fieldwork this summer across public lands including national parks. Hannah Manire’s Capitol Reef National Park research is depicted below

If you’re interested in why support for the Great American Outdoors Act transcends political parties check out our paper on the topic: static1.squarespace.com/static/650dcea…
Thanks to funding from the Great American Outdoors Act, visitors to Wyoming's Gooseberry Badlands Scenic Overlook can now enjoy improved and accessible hiking experiences while taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding desert ecosystem. 👏💗 @BLMWyoming
Very proud of Colter Nunn for his Outstanding Graduate Award, Colter was a brilliant capstone student, presented on his family’s outfitting/guiding business, and a member of the UW rodeo team!

This year we celebrate 3 graduating student veterans in our Green to Green program, Erik Olsen (Army), Brandon Delzeit (Marines), and Brandon Asay (Air Force). Brandon A. and Erik are working on grizzly bear and wild pig research, Brandon D. Will join us for his MS in the fall.

It was such an honor getting coined at the UW Military Connected Graduation by Masters student Brandon Asay, an Air Force veteran who serves as a medic on a C-130 in the WY Air Guard! Brandon is a skilled technical researcher in the lab and we wish him the best!

Recruitment is open for our 2025 new to hunting program open to Wyoming faculty, administrators, and graduate students working on wildlife conservation (over time we will open to undergrads stay tuned) wildlifewildernessrecreationlab.org/learn-to-hunt

Recruiting for our 2025 new to hunting program at the University of Wyoming focusing on recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) linking hunting and conservation. This year we’ll be in Torrington, Wyoming!

Congrats to Professor TK Stoudt and the student veterans of WYO4060 on their successful research seminars. From fractals, to vets mental health, to game warden effectiveness your impact was incredible!

A write up in @thehill on our recent grizzly bear ESA delisting paper:
Our recent publication featured in @thehill on the politicization of the grizzly bear delisting and what happens when we mix contentious politics and wildlife science: thehill.com/policy/energy-…
We had the first meeting of the Wyoming chapter of @HunterandAngler last night. Our CSF partners are going to be providing some serious career mentorship opportunities for our Wyoming students, please join up!
ATTN University of Wyoming students: please join our new chapter of @HunterandAngler based in the Haub School. Last year CSF organized a clay shoot with @GovernorGordon to celebrate Wyoming conservation. More to come!
Keep an eye out this week, we are recruiting for our 2025 new to hunting R3 program brought to the U of Wyoming thanks to @DeltaWaterfowl. This year we are hunting waterfowl in Wyoming, last year was goose in Colorado. Emphasizing links between hunting and conservation.

Grizzly bears are caught in a political tug-of-war. @DrKellyHDunning shows how the Endangered Species Act is shifting from science to politics—threatening its core mission. Read more in @FrontEcolEvol: fro.ntiers.in/Xywb or our news site ⬇️ fro.ntiers.in/RfWP
