It is specifically abusive coming from groups that define what 'abuse' is. Until now psychology thought leaders have been able to use this power to silence dissent. So I'm asking anyone and everyone to please share far and wide. There is more to come.
This is critical pedagogy, which intentionally facilitates psychological crises so that students can undergo an “existential Easter”: death+rebirth to the People’s Standpoint (becoming a Communist). It’s definitionally, knowingly abusive, & is also meant to be used on clients.
It does smack of revenge, but for people who are mostly long dead and from others similarly decades gone. Given how the intent of therapy is to heal, this is diabolical. This movement found a spark of rage and fanned the flames.
Well done for calling this out. It is sadistic, anti-therapeutic and wreaks of revenge.
An important thing to know about this phenomenon is that it is built into the foundational documents of the ACA, CACREP, NBCC, and other groups. Fixing society is listed as a base mission. This perverts the code of ethics to demand this therapy, not curb it.
