Yes, condensation NOT buffering intracellular osmolarity is obvious in experiments with giant vesicles #artificialcells. See e.g. pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10… where changes in osmolarity outside a vesicle triggers condensation inside simply because the membrane is permeable to water.
