Desk rejects are both blessing & a curse: quick feedback + clear signal change is needed, but no detailed reviewer comments. The best journals (like 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘗𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴) give thorough editorial feedback even with desk rejects; that's the gold standard.
