Brexit restored one of the biggest freedoms of all; the freedom to hold our lawmakers to account. The power of our votes. The ability, peacefully through the ballot box, to remove those who make our laws and induce change. In essence, democracy. #Brexit #democracy
The EU Commission is unelected but has the sole power to propose EU laws; its Council of Ministers can over-rule member govts now in almost all policy areas; its parliament isn't underpinned by a demos (half the actual word "democracy"); yet, together, these institutions hold…
This is a rare example of a second generation Brexit benefit. The Developing Countries Trading Scheme was already an improvement on the EU Generalised Scheme of Preferences, and now the DCTS is being improved yet again. Thanks Brexit! gov.uk/government/new…
There's no justification for a £percentage of UK defence contracts to be paid to the EU. Any officials proposing this scam should be asked to pay the costs of recent & ongoing RAF, Army & Navy exercises defending EU borders. @JohnHealey_MP @Keir_Starmer x.com/DemocracyMovem…

The whole thing is just one big money making scheme. EU will take a cut of the value of the weapons sold to EU member states from the UK, bought with money that is loaned to the EU and paid back predominantly by the net contributors through increased budget contributions.

Maybe the EU should pay for the RAF patrolling the skies of E. Europe, or the Army sending 3,000 troops & vehicles on exercise to Romania & Bulgaria? What do you think, @vonderleyen @kajakallas? Insulting.😕 ft.com/content/198271… via @AndyBounds @pmdfoster

PM @Keir_Starmer appears to think that paying the EU to make our laws is somehow compatible with the views of the majority who voted for Brexit.😬 If agreed, it will be another 'red wall' gift for Reform >> telegraph.co.uk/world-news/202… via @Barnes_Joe & @JamesCrisp6 #EUreset #Brexit
Aw this must have really hurt Le Monde to publish. Macron will not be happy at all. "The British have not fared so badly after all" archive.is/zdzIA
"Alignment is designed to prevent British companies from getting a competitive advantage". Why does Keir Starmer think this sounds like a great idea? 🤦♂️ telegraph.co.uk/world-news/202… #EUreset #Brexit
Britain’s decision to quit the European Union four years ago has been vindicated again after the European Commission unveiled a £1.72 trillion spending plan which will potentially saddle remaining member states with massive new financial liabilities express.co.uk/news/politics/…
56. Leaving the EU allowed for a core desire of the British electorate to be realised - that laws governing the UK would be decided upon and enacted by those elected to do so within the UK political structure. This includes 152 areas of policy where previously the EU had…
Inevitable new EU cash grab, as they've no idea how to service the massive EU covid debt (nevermind new defence fund debt) without cutting big chunks of budget >> "First EU-wide taxes to pay for Covid debt" via @Barnes_Joe telegraph.co.uk/world-news/202… #BrexitReality #BrexitBenefits
ECHR being deployed again in the courts to override democratically-passed laws and policies backed by all major political parties. Its key principles are out of control in practice & unsustainable. Is this government willing to push for change? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/… #ECHR
Latest takedown of tired old EU lobby propaganda on Brexit and trade. They just can't get over that a majority rightly voted to leave the endlessly failing, vastly costly and completely undemocratic EU. 👇 #BrexitReality @ChrisGiles_
Hard to believe that the CEP and the FT are still trying to milk the 'Brexit hurt UK trade' bandwagon. Below are the figures from the ONS: UK service exports to the EU were flat before Brexit and are doing relatively better since then. But thankfully the UK's main service export…

The EU model is broken. Time for a #newEurope >> "As of July 1, 11 of the Schengen area’s 29 countries - including Austria, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands - had notified the EU Commission of plans to reintroduce border controls ..." #EuropeanUnion

Another week, another headache with the Irish Sea border - this time it's tobacco "The UK government must either tear up the Windsor Framework so the UK can decide its own laws – or withdraw the Tobacco & Vape Bill" My take on the WF mess for @News_Letter bit.ly/4lzmHbE
