Super thankful to @bttyeo @csabaorban and @ZShaoshi for pouring in all the effort to make this work possible!
1/11 Excited to share our @Naturestudy led by @Leon_Oo1 @csabaorban @ZShaoshi doi.org/10.1038/s41586… It is well-known that AI performance scales with logarithm of sample size (Kaplan, McCandlish 2020), but in many domains, sample size can be # participants or # measurements...
Proud to be part of this exciting @Nature study! It's time to embrace longer fMRI scan durations!

Excited to share our News&Views on @ykamit et al.'s @NatComputSci paper! Their neural code converter enables transformation of brain activity patterns across individuals, and it doesn't need shared stimuli or connectivity information! nature.com/articles/s4358…
Many thanks to @mafeilong and Yuqi Zhang for their thoughtful News & Views commentary on our paper. Appreciate the expert perspective! nature.com/articles/s4358…
Brand new in PNAS: Subnets of the AMN (action-mode network) for decision-making, action, feedback & the bodily self pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…. Great explainer thread 🧵 bsky.app/profile/gordon…
Congratulations to Honggui, Jiankun, and Tan for improving the single-cell 3D genome resolution by a factor of 4 (to 5 Kb). This allowed direct visualization that multiple enhancers cluster to a particular gene promoter at the same time in a single cell. nature.com/articles/s4158…
Pain in the brain! check out the thread: bsky.app/profile/drdami… on the new preprint: osf.io/preprints/psya…
Alert!!!! Anybody out there?!?! “An Action Networks Model for Pain” We propose a new model for chronic pain — and highlight two functionally connected cortical networks that could revolutionize how we treat it. 👉 thread below 🧵 osf.io/preprints/ps...
🔔🔔My new lab is hiring an imaging-genetics Postdoc, exploring how genetic factors (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics) and environmental factors (e.g., early life stress) influence brain development, psychopathology, and neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., autism). Welcome!
📢A lab’s 1st baby-step is always memorable! First #iEEG evidence that #DLPFC #TMS🧲 evokes responses in #sgACC now out @brainstimj: bit.ly/4mX07ei Huge thanks to @IowaNeurosurg @boeslab @NickTrapp13 @xianqing_liu @DrCoreyKeller @UIowaPeds @UIowaNeuro @NIMHgov 💛🖤❤️
Thank you to everyone @Brain_Circuits for the cake and the surprise celebration. Even bigger thank you to the 10k people who cited this paper!
Congrats to @foxmdphd, whose paradigmatic work on anticorrelated functional networks in the human brain has broken the 10k citation mark! This study has shaped the field. It has also deeply formed my own research, thinking, and career path. 🎉🧠
Wow, interesting!
From Autism to Parkinson’s? A link we didn’t see coming: but maybe should have? A groundbreaking new study out of Sweden, just published in JAMA Neurology, raises eyebrows, and important questions about an unexpected link between autism spectrum disorder and Parkinson’s disease.…
Thanks @RuiyangGe for the invitation! I'll share our work on #DeepPrep, personalized functional imaging-guided #TMS for post-stroke functional rehab, and our new findings on the SCAN circuit & neuromodulation in #Parkinsons. Hope to see you there!
Join us for our 13th event on May 20! We're excited to welcome @DavidRen555 who will present DeepPrep, their latest work on deep learning for fMRI processing, recently published in Nature Methods. Scan the QR code to register for free! @UBC_Psychiatry @UBC_IMH
The brainstem’s red nucleus is an evolutionarily old structure that emerged as animals began to use limbs for walking, but its function in humans reaches beyond motor control, a new study suggests. By @sydney_elise44 thetransmitter.org/brain-imaging/…
Shall we 'rethink' the blueprint for the brain? For nearly a century, Penfield's homunculus shaped our understanding of the motor cortex. From toe to tongue right? Gordon and Dosenbach in the journal Nature elegantly revealed to us that the homunculus is more intricate than we…
It’s rewarding to see the neuroscience community recognize the impact of our findings on the SCAN which are featured in this elegant scientific commentary in Brain. doi.org/10.1093/brain/…
