Without free speech and free expression, academia cannot flourish, and no democracy can survive. We, in the UK, are living through perilous times. Say the wrong thing, criticize the wrong group, and you might face a Non-crime hate incident (NCHI), lose your job or even face jail.…
Sickeningly, a number of comics at this year's Edinburgh Fringe have had their shows cancelled, purely because they happen to be Jewish. Nobody in the lunatic purity cult which is the UK comedy industry these days is bothering to protest about this. Shameful, cowardly.
Jesus wept. The Glitter Gestapo will be having a field day with this. The UK gov is fanning the flames of civil unrest, instead of tackling what is fueling the publics' anger.
JUST IN - UK Home Office to assemble an elite team of police officers to monitor social media for "anti-migrant sentiment" in a new investigations unit to "flag early signs of potential civil unrest" — Telegraph
It’s purpose is suppression of the people
The Online Safety Act was never about protecting anyone.
Countries can get by when the economy is struggling but there are high levels of trust and social cohesion. They can also get by when the economy is thriving but trust and social cohesion are in short supply. But they will almost certainly run into massive problems when the…
We need to talk a lot more about the Far Left. They're the danger.
Encounters with humanities academics often leave me with the impression that entire fields are built entirely on sand. It’s all clever wordplay and tedious commentary designed to cover up the fact the foundational assumptions are not correct.
In the past 96 hours in Syria, Islamists have murdered over a thousand innocent civilians through, rape, beheadings, and torture. Amnesty International? Silent. The Red Cross? Silent. Human Rights Watch? Silent.
I hope that cooler heads will prevail and that the government will listen to the people before activists... However I fear that the UK is close to civil war, within a few years. The people are hurt and upset yet the government's arrogance is fueling people's fears and anger.
Sadly, scenes like this were always inevitable. The UK could easily slip into civil war.
Worth a read. Good perspective on UK Gov's mess regarding importing Afghan 'allies'.
🧵 After 32 years of service, including tours in the Balkans & Middle East, I’m fed up with the rose-tinted narrative from MPs like @BenWallace70. His post is drivel, ignoring the harsh reality of our “allies” in Afghanistan. Most weren’t heroes; many were opportunists or worse.
For perspective, the potential £7bn cost of secretly giving asylum to thousands of Afghan soldiers because somebody made an oopsie with MS Office, is roughly the entire cost of NASAs commercial crew program from 2011 to today. We could have had the stars.
Sound plan, but would any UK party adopt it?
Britain wakes up to reality that immigrants are draining the welfare system. But not even Reform has a plan to fix it. Here's a six point plan that will: (full plan on substack)
People are often in a state of disbelief when I tell them that, as a therapist, I want less pathologising, less diagnosing, less labelling, and less dependency on therapy. The obsession with mental health is actually making people more unwell.
He's got a point. The Working Class are the beating heart of Britain. Through envy, spite , and contempt, the so called 'elite' serve everyone else but the Working Class and the UK
When you go back in history it’s always been the working class that saves the country. The working class are the bricks and mortar of this country. Let’s delve into some examples: 1381 - The Peasants’ Revolt 135,000 working-class men, farmers, blacksmiths, craftsmen, marched…
