It's great to be back in Geneva for the annual session of the UN International Law Commission. Looking forward to speaking later this week at this event organized by @UKMissionGeneva 🇨🇱 & 🇹🇭on the role of ILC in the progressive development & codification of international law.

The International Court of Justice provides predictability, stability and security. As the 🇬🇧 candidate for the ICJ, I will use my experience advising states from every region of the globe to strengthen the international rule of law at every opportunity, for the benefit of all.

Here at the @UN, I am reminded why I wanted to be an international lawyer and why it is a privilege to be the UK candidate for the @CIJ_ICJ. It would be an even greater privilege to serve the Court as a judge and work together to help the ICJ meet the challenges before it today.

We are hosting a workshop in Oxford on 17 June 2025 on "Treaty Regimes in International Law". The workshop is in honour of Sir Frank Berman KCMG KC. Early Career Researchers are invited to submit abstracts by 10 March 2025. Financial assistance available if needed.

Many thanks to those who attended, wrote papers for & chaired panels at our Oxford seminar on General Principles of Law. We had a particular focus on the work of the United Nations International Law Commission, which will consider the topic on second (and final) reading this year
