This is a tragic example of daily life in #Gaza: another child killed, another family devastated. Ezzedine, 13-year-old, was wounded in the head by a stray bullet while receiving medical care at our Red Cross hospital. Medical facilities, staff, patients must be protected.

Today, a staff member at the Red Cross Field Hospital was injured by a stray bullet. Thankfully, he is stable and undergoing further treatment. This incident is unacceptable, and a reminder of the dangers civilians, medical staff, and patients experience every day in Gaza.

#IHL is key for protecting vulnerable populations in armed conflicts, yet its main challenge is poor implementation. Raising awareness of the rules among humanitarian professionals creates discussions about the impacts of conflicts & helps identify ways to support the affected.
