lots of great stuff this week! my favorite was the auto-generated project names built by a contributor of ours who is still in high school(!!)
Onlookers, for our update #02, the focus has been on improving platform and AI stability. This update is all about making Onlook rock-solid. Let's dive in 🧵
fuck that, build this with @onlookdev instead
I finally dropped my step-by-step guide. Learn how to build beautiful apps with @lovable_dev FAST. Drop "Launch" below, you get 50% off for life (First 100 members only). Access it here: skool.com/ai-app-academy…
If you're a better visual designer you become a better overall designer imo you often have to see something in high fidelity to really understand how it'll look and feel and so many UX designers are lacking the visual skills to think beyond basic flows
an observation about product designers: a lot of product designers in australia are very visually weak. i've noticed this when hiring candidates, working with my co-workers in tech companies, and in my past self there's an over reliance on design systems rather than details.…
one of my favorite parts of the @onlookdev website. was so fun to draw these illustrations and prompt the drag-and-drop interaction on this took a while to decide on the colors but eventually landed on something pretty unique
an enormous week for @onlookdev fired up about all of the contributions we got live!
here’s our first weekly update: a quick look at what’s new, what’s fixed, and what’s next at Onlook. we’ll be sharing these every week to keep you informed. 🧵👇
it's pretty wild that when anthropic was started everyone was like "pfft ok sure I guess" and years later the entire software development industry can't live without claude
looking for an ex-windsurf basement robot cage-fighting forward-deployed labubu dubai chocolate founding engineer
Yoksha, a fresh AI startup, created an ESG portal with @onlookdev, featuring live carbon emissions, social metrics & controversy flags for brands. neat! 🍃
thanks @Suhail for sharing this more widely – didn't think it'd blow up this much after writing it up and sharing with other YC founders, but glad I did here's his github to keep an eye out for: github.com/satya-nutella
PSA: there’s a guy named Soham Parekh (in India) who works at 3-4 startups at the same time. He’s been preying on YC companies and more. Beware. I fired this guy in his first week and told him to stop lying / scamming people. He hasn’t stopped a year later. No more excuses.
it's been awesome to see what people have built during the @onlookdev web beta @kitaedesigns crafted an incredibly cool interactive sales pitch generator for architects... seriously impressed with the attention to detail on this!
"cursor for x" is an efficient way to tell people your product is built with ai at the core. are there more efficient ways to communicate that?
whenever we build something in Onlook I'll do a pass over the code and tighten up the placement and styling which we call "sanding" internally web design has sanding to it too and while it can feel trivial to adjust pixels, it all matters in the overall "feel" of the product
every creative hobby has its own “90% sanding” sewing - 90% ironing baking - 90% measuring fermentation - 90% waiting
