The older you get the more your life is defined by your willingness to learn and to keep trying and the less it is defined by how skilled you were when you started adult life. I find this deeply reassuring.
A series of questions I often ask myself “If a person were really serious about xyz, like 100% in on xyz goal- what would that look like? How does my current life differ from that?” Sometimes I decide I don’t want to make those trade-offs but it helps me discover blind spots.
One thing I have always admired about French governance is the official recognition of cultural efforts. Just learned about the EPV label (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant) which designates a “business of living heritage” -official recognition of cultural artisanship.
