Elections matter, but if you don’t like the outcome it’s totally legitimate to say that low participation, a history of unequal civil rights, and the totally corrupting influence of money leave any result a far cry from the will of the people.
Due to advanced age and decades of vegetarian diet I’m unable to watch a film such as The Mighty Ducks without tearing up a few times 😢
The student protesters were obviously correct on Gaza. The reaction to them was obviously idiotic and depraved. We're probably still a while out from this being banal conventional wisdom, but it's coming.
“I’ll veto legislation” isn’t much of a rallying cry
The 6-week abortion ban goes too far, but the insiders in Des Moines don’t think so. As governor, I’ll veto any further restrictions on reproductive freedoms in Iowa.

Never heard River to River host Ben Kieffer more animated than he is here grilling Dem Chair Rita Hart about how she’s failed the state by losing the caucuses. No more presidential candidates on his show!

How much are the first in the nation caucuses responsible for ethanol policy and the Iowa water crisis?
Well respected in Cedar Rapids from what I can tell. Once spoke at a school board meeting and was skeptical of carceral/punishment solutions, which I thought was interesting.
