The @CIJ_ICJ clarifies: all states have obligations to protect the climate. To take measures to prevent damages and ensure a clean, healthy & sustainable environment. A big milestone. Under Vanuatu’s leadership, #Germany, SIDS & others initiated this request to the #ICJ.

I urged Prime Minister Netanyahu in a phone call to do everything in his power to bring about an immediate ceasefire and called on him to allow urgently needed humanitarian aid to reach the starving civilian population in Gaza without delay. 1/2

The German Cabinet has approved the #Bundeswehr Planning and Procurement Acceleration Bill, which Defence Minister #Pistorius describes as a quantum leap for the Bundeswehr and 🇩🇪 defence capability. 1/2

Under this law, defence & security orders worth up to €443,000 can be procured directly – previously, orders of over €15,000 had to be put to tender. Small, innovative companies will receive support. Joint procurement will be promoted in the interests of interoperability. 2/2

Limiting the independence of Ukraine’s anti-corruption agency hampers #Ukraine’s way towards the EU. I expect 🇺🇦 to continue with determination its efforts in combating corruption. That’s why I also met with the heads of #NABU & #SAPO during my visit to Kyiv. @AussenMinDE

I join the EU in welcoming the declaration signed in Doha between the #DRC and AFC/M23 as an important step towards a durable peace accord. I applaud #Qatar for its mediation role. Implementation in good faith including by regional actors is now key.

Regarding the situation in Syria, we agreed that the ceasefire must now be stabilized to prevent unrest from spreading to neighboring countries. All actors are therefore called upon to lay down their arms. The cycle of violence and retaliation must be broken. @AussenMinDE 3/3
