New preprint with @nathanieldaw: Humans can distinguish volatility (rate of change or diffusion noise) & moment-to-moment stochasticity (or observation noise) and adjust their learning adaptively. As theoretically expected, these have opposite effects on humans' learning rate.
Thanks @ErnoHermans, Benno Roozendaal, @wirz_lisa and Kübra Gülmez @Kbra775 for organizing this wonderful summerschool @stresscog #stressandcognition #ss23 . I learned a lot!
What a fantastic experience! A dream lineup and a great organization! Thanks, @stresscog, for generating such an amazing environment to discuss and reflect on stress research.
Tichelaar et al. show that individuals with PD who have impulse control disorders are particularly sensitive to rewards when on DAergic medication, and this reward sensitivity is associated with increased value signalling in mPFC. tinyurl.com/2p9b5me7
