Minnesota DFL State Chair Richard Carlbom: “If you want to be authoritarian, go be a Republican.” Mayor Frey and his supporters: “Say less.”
fundamental to this approach, politicians like Frey and Cuomo believe only insiders should lead or craft policy. They dismiss folks who appeal to fairness and our values and aspirations. Anytime they are clearly rejected, they clearly object like a petulant child.
Can’t even begin to describe how beautiful it is to see these leaders lifting each other up and refusing to let their candidacy for mayor, divide them. This is the kind of compassionate politics our City has been void of for far too long. Thanks to our local duck for capturing 😉
omar fateh says what he admires in jazz hampton and dewayne davis and why we should rank them with him
A progressive council passing legislation that the out of touch conservative mayor keeps vetoing…where have I heard that before??? The similarities between the Big Apple and The MinneApple just keep coming
In 2023, the City Council passed a package of laws expanding access to housing vouchers. Eric Adams vetoed it. Then the Council overrode his veto. The Mayor refused to implement it. Now a court says he has to. What a ridiculous waste of time during a housing crisis.
This is Benjamin Netanyahu’s third visit to DC this year. War criminals should not be welcomed by any president or Congress. He should be held accountable for his crimes, not platformed. Beyond shameful.
Monumental loss for Frey. Win for us!
Big loss for Mayor Frey today. Losing an endorsement from SEIU’s members is monumental. The majority of SEIU members who live or work in Minneapolis are immigrants, women, and/or BIPOC. Congratulations on earning @seiumn’s support, @OmarFatehMN! Let’s win, together #1u
Honestly we have no business celebrating independence when we’ve been conquered by AIPAC.
why the fuck would anyone be celebrating this country tomorrow
PRIMARY THEM ALL. EVERY LAST ONE. This is what we should require of future leaders: 1) Stop the Genocide of Palestinians 2) End the disgusting blind allegiance to Israel 3) Pass Medicaid for All 4) Relieve Student Debt 5) Raise the Federal Minimum Wage 6) TAX THE 1%
I’m actually really fucking tired of hearing “call your senators” OUR SENATORS DO NOT FUCKING CARE. How many times have we called them within THIS YEAR ALONE and they still vote against interest of the ppl. “Call your senators” for fucking what????
It's so weird. Dems keep breaking talking records, but we all keep losing our rights, money, benefits, and care.
I draw inspiration from slavery abolitionists who often fought and died never having seen success in their lifetimes but were an essential part of getting there. I want to see freedom but I might be a building block towards it and that's okay too, because what's right is right.
josh shapiro or pete buttigieg is going to run for president in 3 years promising to put everything back the way it was. that's not good enough. no more defenders of the status quo. the status quo got us here, offer us something better
positions like Medicare for all and Abolish ICE should be minimum for every single democrat who wants to hold office. Otherwise you are not the opposition you are on the same team as conservatives
We gotta organize man, it’s really our only choice and option. You can’t be waiting or wanting the Democratic Party to save you because they won’t.
Somebody tell Jacob Hill that this is the analysis. Omar=Zohran. Frey=Cuomo/Adams
Minneapolis isn’t that different from NYC politically, right? Zohran Mamdani’s dominating performance has to have Omar Fateh feeling good this morning, right? Maybe this a BlueSky question…
Comparing Jacob Frey to a socialist the moment a socialist is viewed as a winner is entirely on brand for his supporters. Also “Jacob Frey has Mamdani’s charisma” is a ridiculous thing to say. Frey is either Cuomo (because he’s a creep) or Adams (because he’s a bad mayor).
