Worker-organizer with @amazonlabor at @amazon President ALU-IBT Local 1 [email protected]
Sewage = massive biohazard risk to thousands of workers = SHUT THAT SH** DOWN!!!
Breaking!! When Amazon ignores our health and safety, WE PROTECT OURSELVES! @amazonlabor took action, marched on the boss, and forced Amazon to send everyone home with pay when there was a dangerous sewage leak in the warehouse. Join the movement to change this company so workers…
Raw sewage backed up into work areas at JFK8--not the first time, too. This, combined with the heat, made it unbearable to work in the stench and is absolutely unsafe. Amazon needs to start acting quickly to send workers home in these conditions. @amazonlabor @amazonteamsters
🚨Please Support!!🚨 Trader Joe’s unlawfully terminated our union sibling Jamie Edwards, whose organizing contributions were instrumental in unionizing the first TJ’s store in the U.S. While they seek reinstatement, please consider donating: gofundme.com/f/stand-with-j…
Time and time again, we have to make these posts. Amazon could have worked with us years ago to fix this. People who are gone now could still be here. It's exhausting, but it's a reminder. We can't afford to stop fighting. No matter how long, how tiring, we absolutely must win.
We’re heartbroken over the loss of one of our coworkers. Our deepest condolences go out to their loved ones. This tragic loss of life was preventable, and we demand transparency to know what went wrong in the process so we can push for real solutions that prioritize our safety.
These last few days have been some of the most amazing of my life. Out on strike, standing side by side in the blistering cold with my brothers and sisters as we fight for a better world. Amazon is coming to the table whether they like it or not. Our movement is unstoppable!

When the captive audiences and consultants don't work, they weaponize the police against us. WE WILL NEVER SURRENDER!!
Breaking: Teamsters Local 804 organizer Anthony Rosario, a veteran of the 1997 UPS strike, was arrested at the Amazon picket line. Upon release, he embraces Amazon driver Jogernsyn Cardenas. A worker off-camera says how their release shows Amazon won’t instill fear in them.
“got enough buttons, button bitch?” -my union president
The @NLRB has denied @Amazon’s appeals to our 2022 union certification election. Amazon has ignored its legal obligation to bargain with the workers of JFK8 but we’re done waiting! They continue to abuse us but we’re ready to fight back. Here’s a thread to catch you up🧵
Perfect, just in time for us to ramp up the fight inside. You’ve got a lot to answer for, Amazon. And you’ll be doing it sitting across the table from the rank-and-file workers you’ve been abusing since Day One.
BREAKING NEWS: The Amazon Labor Union has fully and officially completed its affiliation with the Teamsters Union, following a ruling on Thursday from the National Labor Relations Board rejecting outstanding objections by Amazon. ALU members at Amazon’s JFK8 fulfillment center…
It's an honor to be chosen to lead my coworkers in the fight to take on Amazon and help build a better world for the working class. Our oath today reminds us it's the workers who put us here. Priority #1 is building a mass movement. Priority #2 is mass action. No time to waste.

Not a day goes by organizing that I don’t use something I learned from Jane. She brought a lot to our movement and her legacy will live on in the next generation of organizers she helped train and develop. Very sad to hear of her passing
Extremely sad news: Jane McAlevey <@rsgexp>, the organizer, writer, and human dynamo, died this morning. I knew her for over 20 years and loved and admired her.
First they fired us for organizing, now they're having us arrested. Everything we do is well within our rights, and we're not backing down in the face of illegal retaliation and intimidation. We're going to keep fighting for workers until we win.
BREAKING: Amazon called the NYPD on ALU Reform Caucus organizers. They were handing out fliers in front of JFK8, ahead of our leadership elections and the @Teamsters affiliation vote. The NYPD wrongfully arrested Connor Spence and Sultana Hossain. 🧵
AMAZON LABOR UNION FORMALLY AFFILIATES WITH TEAMSTERS In a milestone for organized labor, the Amazon Labor Union has formally affiliated with the 1.3 million-member International Brotherhood of Teamsters. The affiliation supplies renewed representation and stronger resources for…
Exploring options for affiliation has long been a part of our reform platform because we know full well bringing Amazon to the table is a national fight, and JFK8 can't do it alone. We're beyond excited for this fresh start!
While affiliation between the ALU and @Teamsters is tentative pending ratification by our JFK8 co-workers, we’re proud that our vision for a militant, democratic union to lead the national organizing campaign at Amazon and win a strong contract has been captured in this agreement
Last year, Amazon unjustly & illegally fired Pasquale "Uncle Pat" Cioffi from JFK8 in retaliation for his union organizing. Pat was instrumental in ALU's victory last spring! While he's fighting to get his job back, he could use your support! Pls donate: gofundme.com/f/p3cyt-wrongf…
Everyone please donate to support our friend and illegally fired organizer Sultana Hossain! She is instrumental in the work of building worker power at Amazon and all support and solidarity is greatly appreciated!! gofundme.com/f/support-alu-…
Thanks to our panelists from Monday’s event “Labor Organizing in the Age of Workplace Surveillance.” They discussed the invasive tactics employers use to monitor workers & undermine solidarity. Most importantly, they emphasized that the law won’t save us, collective action will.
