Louisiana drivers deserve better. Our state’s sky-high auto insurance rates are driven by excessive injury claims and legal costs. That’s why I pushed for, and the Legislature passed, reforms to help bring those costs down.
Why are Louisiana’s auto insurance rates so high? A big reason is how many bodily injury claims we have here. This year, lawmakers passed new laws to help lower premiums by fixing what drives up costs. Learn more about what's changed at ldi.la.gov

Big wins this session! Louisiana passed several refrom measures designed to help fix our insurance system, close legal loopholes, and ecourage stronger homes. The goal? More affordable, fair insurance for everyone.

First up at #JIF2025, @LAInsuranceDept @CommTemple: "In 2025, we've held 14 legislative committee meetings to discuss cost drivers in Louisiana. It’s encouraging we're not just talking about premiums — we're examining the underlying causes and focusing on educating consumers."
“My thanks go out to the LDI Fraud team... and to @LAStatePolice. @LAInsuranceDept and our law enforcement partners remain committed to aggressively pursuing those who commit these types of insurance crimes.” bit.ly/4e1nS11 #LaLege
