CNSP Workshop
@CnspWorkshop
Workshop: 2–3 Sep 2025, Online Hackathon: 12–14 Sep 2025, Maastricht Sponsors: @mBrainTrain | @Artinis_MS Paper: http://doi.org/10.48550/arXiv.2309.07671
🚨In other exciting news, the first ever CNSP Hackathon will take place this year in Maastricht, Netherlands on 12-14 September, just before the International Conference on Auditory Cortex (ICAC)!! For more info and early bird registration, go to: cnspworkshop.net/hackathon.html

Places for the CNSP Hackathon are quickly filling up and we have already awarded the travel grants. We still have another couple of spots open at the regular rate (€130), so please register soon if you are interested before they are gone! Link to website and registration below👇

One of our key sponsors, @Artinis_MS, a cool online summerschool on fNIRS artinis.com/hyperscanning-…. It's online and free
New lab preprint! This one has been a long time coming. On the generative mechanisms underlying the cortical tracking of natural speech: a position paper. osf.io/preprints/osf/… A brief thread below…
The early-bird registration has been extended to the 10th June! This first round of application will be evaluated soon after that. There are still a few spots available!
Reminder: early bird registration for the CNSP Hackathon ends in 5 days (31 May), so if you are thinking of joining us in Maastricht on 12-14 September, please register before the deadline to avail of the offer!

Great work by @GiorgioPiazza_C! We are honoured to have contributed to this interesting study investigating the impact of speech register on speech perception. Thanks to @mBrainTrain for providing a travel grant that supported this study.
New paper in @ImagingNeurosci by our postdoc @GiorgioPiazza_C from his PhD work with Clara Martin @SpeechB_Bcbl & @diliberg 🔗 direct.mit.edu/imag/article/d…
Are you Interested in: - the role of oscillations in visual and auditory processing? - blending computational and experimental neuroscience? - research with clinical implications? If yes, then maybe you'd like a postdoc with us. DM/email me for more details. RTs appreciated
We're excited to announce that CNSP Workshop will resume this year after a hiatus in 2024 (dates TBD)!! Please keep an eye on our media channels in the coming weeks for updates, and share with anyone you think will be interested in attending or participating. Thank you! #CNSP2025
Looking for a postdoc! The Beker lab is expanding. If you have: 👉🏼 PhD in neuroscience or related fields 👉🏼 Strong background in electrophysiology and signal analysis 👉🏼 Desire to study neurodevelopmental disorders Dm or: [email protected]
CNSP paper alert!
Our paper on data sharing guidelines and resources is now accepted! This is the result of a collective effort, with a team that was assembled through the @CnspWorkshop. I am glad to have published this one with @NBDT_journal! Find the links in the comments below
Here is a preprint from the CNSP/mBrainTrain travel award winner and speaker @GiorgioPiazza_C. We are very glad to have contributed to this splendid study.
Preprint allert🧠 We explored how speech register impacts the cortical encoding of speech at different levels of language integration. Big thanks to all co-authors @carta_cartas @ipemily58 @josejperez_ @MarinaKalashnik CD Martin @diliberg @bcbl_ @SpeechB_Bcbl @ColabLanguage 1/n
I’m looking for a postdoc to work with my group on understanding speech and language in the brain using pediatric intracranial recordings. Looking for folks with strong computational skills and electrophysiology experience. Email me your CV if interested! Job post forthcoming.
Know someone who is really good with statistics? And is also a good teacher? We are looking for an instructor to give a mini-course in advanced stats for Neuroscience grad students at @GondaBrain if you know the right person, please send them my way :-)
Spent a big chunk of the last three months doing a tour of brain research labs and start-ups. At least half of them are not yet really known to the public. My conclusion is that we're about to increase our knowledge of how the brain works by many, many, many fold. As in,
Had a great visit @WesternU with @BButlerTweets talking about visual speech and hosting a TRF workshop. Especially loved meeting with students individually to troubleshoot idiosyncratic TRF issues. Grateful for the opportunity!
